[00:00:00] Sheridan: Business felt hard and it felt like everything was turbulent and a monumentous task and I wasn’t ever sure if it was ever going to work until I understood these four things.

 

[00:00:10] By the end of this episode you will know exactly what lack of engagement and lack in sales means and what it doesn’t. You’ll understand the key thing that will help you feel safe, to relax, to rest, and to breathe deeply and exactly why hard work, discipline, and dysregulation isn’t exactly as bad as it is made out to be.

 

[00:00:48] Let’s look at the four ways that your wounded inner child and dysregulated nervous system impacts financial freedom or makes business easier. Um, sorry, harder than it needs to be. These are not the only four ways. [00:01:00]These are some of the four ways that I was thinking about today and that I see to be really, really common in most of the clients that I work with.

 

[00:01:08] Okay. So number one, I used to think, or my wounded inner child, let’s go into that for a second. Um, so your wounded inner child is kind of, it will, there is this, Piece of us, or this part of us that lives inside of our body and inside of our psyche and communicates to us through sensations, emotions, thoughts.

 

[00:01:29] Things that it believes to be true or is concerned about or wants us to know about in an effort to protect us from some sort of pain or protect us from an event that it perceives will be painful. And so when we’re engaging in business or particularly with anything around money, just because of how inherently dysregulating money is to our nervous system, because it is related to, um, resources and belonging and the way that we are kind of situated inside of the tribe, it, it is inherently [00:02:00]dysregulating and it can, trigger, uh, our wounded inner child, which then gives us these beliefs or these thoughts or these ways of looking at business and things like that in ways that are not necessarily true and definitely not healthy.

 

[00:02:16] So four ways that, My wounded inner child and dysregulated nervous system impacted my financial freedom and maybe doing it for you are the following. Number one, I used to think, or my wounded inner child would tell me that lack of engagement or lack of sales was a sign that everything would fall apart.

 

[00:02:38] So my dysregulated nervous system kind of gave me this feeling That this visceral, very visceral feeling inside of this is wrong. I would have thoughts that would say, well, this is my intuition or this is my critical thinking. In fact, it was a wounded inner child that just felt wrong. That was very much based in shame and was looking to be [00:03:00] liked.

 

[00:03:01] Um, that was thinking the lack of sales, a lack of engagement means something is wrong. Therefore, I’m not liked. Therefore, I’m unsafe. Therefore, I need to amp up the way that I feel and the anxiety that I have around the ebbs and flows with maturation, with trauma healing and with experience and with body based practices.

 

[00:03:19] I’ve come to understand that ebbs flows and changes are actually a part of what makes entrepreneurship fun, attractive, and perfect for my creativity. My success is not going anywhere. for listening. My inner child didn’t understand this, had never experienced this before, and I had to develop this wise parent inside of me, this, this wise self, this regulated nervous system able to hold the dysregulation and hold the wounded parts of inside of me to understand that lack of engagement or lack of sales isn’t a sign that everything will fall apart.

 

[00:03:52] The other way that my wounded inner child or your wounded inner child may impact you Your financial freedom is if you’re [00:04:00]engaging in the belief or the thought pattern, or you have anxiety around this, that spending time being unproductive means that you’re lazy. I used to think that being unproductive, and I say that with like quote marks, meant that I was lazy.

 

[00:04:14] Before I was able to identify my business’s true needs as well as my own and then focus my mind enough when working to be effective, productive, creative, intuitive, and have fun, I always felt like I needed to earn time off. This gave me chronic stress. I couldn’t rest when I was resting. Um, and I was never really present and my best when I was focused.

 

[00:04:35] So I had to go through an entire process of choosing rest and ease, even when I hated it and learn that Rest actually serves me and my clients and all of my goals. I had to unpack all of the beliefs that I had around being lazy. And I also had to learn how to focus. Now, some of you will identify as being neurodivergent.

 

[00:04:57] I definitely identify as being [00:05:00] neurodivergent even though I haven’t been diagnosed and probably never will put myself in that situation. But a lot of us can have trouble focusing. When we have a dysregulated nervous system, or if we are neurodivergent. And so we need to learn two things. One, we need to learn how to focus.

 

[00:05:16] And there are different body based tools that we can use. There’s different ways that I can coach you towards that. And I’m happy to do an episode on that. If you would like it, um, just let me know if that would be supportive and send me a message and I’ll do it. And we also need to be able to learn to rest.

 

[00:05:32] And part of that is understanding. That being quote unquote unproductive or resting in true rest, resting your mind, resting your creativity, resting your emotions, resting your body, resting your spirit isn’t a sign that you’re lazy. My inner wounded child thought that it was because at some point she learned that it was, even though that wasn’t true.

 

[00:05:53] The other way that my wounded inner child and dysregulated nervous system was impacting my financial freedom and maybe [00:06:00]impacting yours was believing that hard work, discipline and dysregulation are bad. I find that in this industry, there is this popularized movement that ease, you know, is like the one thing that we should be pursuing all of the time and that we need to quote unquote create success with feminine energy and orgasms.

 

[00:06:21] And like, I’ve literally seen, and I’m not saying that this isn’t true. I think there’s like, I always teach you to orient to pleasure. I really believe in the value of pleasure and I really believe in creating success from flow and from ease. There is a problem and that begins to villainize tension and hard work.

 

[00:06:41] The truth is feeling healthy amounts of stress is actually what creates fulfillment. It is what creates you feeling supported and, and stimulated by your business. It what makes, it’s what makes you feel motivated to keep going to get up. It’s what creates resiliency at what gives you a sense of purpose.

 

[00:06:59] [00:07:00] It’s what makes you a glowing person who is excited to get to work on Monday. We’ll We need to find inside your specific level of activation of, of tension, of stress and constriction. We need to fine tune that into your business goals and also into your lifestyle and into your body. When we find your sweet spot, then momentum happens with ease, but constriction and difficulty Is normal.

 

[00:07:30] It is a part of human life. And it’s certainly a part of entrepreneurship. And anyone who tries to tell you otherwise is probably just trying to sell you something and not actually in it. And they might be speaking some truth in some ways. But remember that it is a portion of it, and please try to be less black and white about this.

 

[00:07:52] We need a healthy amount of tension and stress in order to get stronger, in order to get [00:08:00] better at something, in order to improve. Otherwise, your amygdala will not activate and it will not pursue action. Um, otherwise you will not be able to practice new things. Your amygdala is what keeps you going.

 

[00:08:12] gives you the hormones that incite action and it needs to be activated to a certain level, not to the point where you feel unsafe, but to a certain level where it now floods your body with the correct kind of neurochemical and hormonal cocktail that inspires you to be excited to get up to work on Monday, an inner child that is.

 

[00:08:40] In pain and is pursuing ease, rest, orgasms at the sake, at the expense of your desires is not true embodied business. It is the pendulum flowing the other way from a trauma response. Okay, number four.

 

[00:09:00] I used to think that or my wounded inner child would think that saying no or sharing my authentic thoughts and feelings would result in judgment, attack, or abandonment.

 

[00:09:09] This makes sense because, you know, a wounded inner child maybe you’ve experienced, uh, a bullying or a, uh, Or maybe you’ve experienced some level of pain. Somebody has judged you. We all have these experiences in childhood that are painful for us. And we feel judged and we feel like we’re not enough. And we feel like we’re too different or something.

 

[00:09:30] And it creates, Oh, it creates so much discomfort that we then develop these stories, beliefs and patterns around saying no or sharing what we think that follow us into. Business and work. And for me personally, that manifested as I have this belief of like, I used to think that sharing my authentic thoughts and feelings would result in judgment, tech and abandonment.

 

[00:09:57] And I didn’t realize[00:10:00] about three years into my online journey that I was holding back parts of my personality and my opinions or my sense of humor or ideas, because I was so conditioned to do so. I was so conditioned that I didn’t even realize, and I probably do it a little bit now. Um, Anyway, and I’m working every day on not doing it, of being more me.

 

[00:10:21] And the way, the most effective way to stop holding back parts of you The most effective way to find the sweet spot between hard work and ease and rest and productivity and understanding your innate value, but also bringing value through service to your community and of understanding when you need to freak out about engagement or lack of sales versus a normal ebb and flow of business.

 

[00:10:48] The way that you understand that is through the three steps, the three pillars of body based business. It is by prioritizing nervous system regulation with lifestyle diet and energetic practices. 

 

[00:11:00] It is by deep trauma healing, using somatic therapy to change these practices, change these habits, change these thought patterns and change your identity at a cellular level.

 

[00:11:10] And then it is anchoring into that and taking that action in changing your business strategy so that everything is set up automatically and with ease. This is the body based business way. [00:00:00] Training – Sheridan: This is the trauma informed truth about manifesting for people who refuse to convince themselves to be high vibe all the time. This is the exact way you are going to reach what you want without denying the reality and sometimes discomfort of where you are. I’m going to use some of my words to describe what I’m about to share with you because they know it better than I do.

 

[00:00:33] I’m about to share with you a small little training that I’ve offered. This is the recording of the training, the audio recording of the training. That I offer inside of body based business. It is just part one. There is an extended part two, uh, since we’ve had part two come out, I’ve been inspired to offer part one to you.

[00:01:33] Or they really, they love being in their body. They love learning about the nervous system. They love going to yoga, doing breath work, all these things. Yeah. Um, I actually don’t like this word, um, but we’re going to use it because I think it helps us understand, um, what we’re talking about, which is the practice of having a dream or having a desire and taking it from your mind or your, the ether and bringing it into the 3d world and being able to, to exchange and relate with that desire, right?

 

[00:03:57] So I have a feeling and a thought of like, I want a [00:04:00] 10k month and I’m able to then bring that 10k month into reality and see 10k that month come into my bank account through a certain product, et cetera.

 

[00:04:13] Somatic manifestation is less about, it’s about the posture that you look at the world through, right? It’s less, or the most effective way that I’ve noticed it to actually work is less about grasping and Trying to create something and it’s more about letting life flow through you, including your desires and working with your body and with the world in order to experience more of what you desire.

 

[00:04:50] So I want you to do a little practice with me real quick and I want you to just think of something that you want that you don’t have. Like you really want it and you just do not have it. I want you to think about that. As soon as I [00:05:00] think about that, as soon as I even start speaking about that, I noticed my body change.

 

[00:05:04] What do you notice your body do? Think right now. What is one thing that I really want that I do not currently have? And I want you to feel the experience of not having as well as wanting. I want you to write down somewhere. What is the experience? What are the sensations? What are the thoughts and what are the emotions that I have in my body?

 

[00:05:28] When I think about a thing that I want. the wanting and also that I do not have it, the not having. What does the wanting feel like? What does the not having feel like? Take a few moments.

 

[00:05:49] Cool. Pause if you need to. Now, I want you to identify something in your space right now that you really [00:06:00] like, that you really like, that you want to have for a long time in your life or that you want more of. I love the trees outside my window. I hope and I desire that I consistently have access to this type of nature for the rest of my life.

 

[00:06:18] And a lot of what motivates me to do my work is to have access to this nature. So I want you to find one of the things that you like right now. If you don’t have anything, move, go find something that you do like. And I want you to just receive the thing that you like. Take a few deep breaths. So I’ll look out my window.

 

[00:06:39] Take a few deep breaths. Contemplating the thing that you are receiving that you like, that you hope you, you have for a long time.

 

[00:06:49] Good. And then write, write down, what do you feel in your body? What are the sensations? What are the emotions? What are the thoughts and how does that feel?[00:07:00] 

 

[00:07:02] And then, and pause if you like, if you want to go a bit slower than I am. And then just kind of like, which one feels better? Which one feels better to you? Which one feels better?

 

[00:07:18] I personally like thinking about the things that I, it feels more pleasurable in my body to notice the things that I do have and how I can receive them.

 

[00:07:30] And it is from that place of feeling the fullness of the moment of what you are receiving in this moment that we get to invite more of that in. Like attracts like in this universe. The laws of the universe that we have, like attracts like. So when I focus on the not having, I am going to see and feel and experience more not having.

 

[00:07:57] When I focus on the not having, but the [00:08:00] wanting, I’m going to see, feel, experience more of the not having and the wanting at the same time. When I focus my awareness on the receiving, I feel more receiving and I receive more.

 

[00:08:16] Every single thing that I’ve manifested effectively, has happened through a lens of being in the moment to receive everything that I’m in right now. If we pull it into business, I don’t really like to use myself as an example, but I’m going to, at the moment, I, I, I, you know, I never really went into. This wanting to have like a fully booked coaching practice.

 

[00:08:46] All I ever wanted to do was in relationship anxiety, hair loss, all I ever wanted to do was help a couple of people. And I wanted to stay present while I was helping it. Now there are lots [00:09:00] of like ups and downs in that road, but the way that I achieved having a fully booked practice in being a teacher, Guest speaker and different grouping events, group events and things like that was not through putting that as my goal and focusing on it, even though it was my goal in some way, and it continues to be the goal of many, including you, if you’re here with me.

 

[00:09:26] Um, Um, it, it wasn’t through putting on that and focusing on how much I wanted it, but also didn’t have it and how much I wanted it and how much I wanted it and how much I wanted it. It was actually through being in the mundane actions that led me to it fully, 100 percent fully. So that meant that when I was creating an offer and nobody wanted it, I fully sat in that feeling.

 

[00:09:55] And I received that feeling of embarrassment or of rejection. [00:10:00] And then when somebody messaged me and said, Hey Sheridan, like I was listening to this and you completely changed my life with it. I lingered in that and I was fully there. And I was fully there and I was fully there. And actually what I started doing, and I found this in my Google drive as I was cleaning it out yesterday, what I started doing, I started making note of all of the ways that people were wanting to invite me to speak or wanting to congratulate my work or feeling positively affected by my work.

 

[00:10:31] And I sat in the depth of receiving the appreciation of receiving the, the feedback. I sat in all of that. And whenever I did a call that didn’t feel right, whenever I had a sales call that didn’t go well, whenever I got a no, I sat in that, like the, the, the disgusting feeling of it. I sat in those sensations and I returned consistently to the sensation of receiving everything that was [00:11:00] there.

 

[00:11:01] I didn’t reject it and I didn’t focus on longing or wanting. I didn’t try to push away the discomfort because it will always come forward. It will always want to be seen. I saw myself fully in what I was and I focused and I continue to focus on receiving this whole world and feeling full of the things that I enjoy.

 

[00:11:26] And when I feel full of the things that I enjoy, I become, and I, I experienced, I become a new, different embodiment. If we look at vibration, you’re moving yourself up into a certain vibration, although I don’t like hierarchies, but it can be helpful to kind of see it in that way. You’re moving yourself up into a different vibration because you are vibrating at the level of receiving the things that you desire.

 

[00:11:50] Therefore, the desires that are born inside of your body immediately come up to that level, and you vibrate, and I receive the things that I desire. [00:12:00] I have evidence. I’m, I’m embodying the person who receives things that she desires. I’m not embodying the person who longs for something, but doesn’t have it and tries to manifest it and bring it forward.

 

[00:12:10] No, I embody the vessel that receives and desires and receives the things that she desires. And so by you fully receiving this moment and making it a habit to receive this moment and making it a habit to identify your desires as well. That’s, that’s important. Um, for some of you, it’s more important than for others, but to receive this moment fully and to be mindful with everything that you are experiencing and to be here in the comfort and in the discomfort, noticing how much you can receive.

 

[00:12:46] And the manifestation of your desires becomes obvious. And it kind of notices without you, like, it just happens. You get distracted receiving the beauty of your [00:13:00] life, living the embodiment of your life, and the desires just come in. So I want you to focus, your homework is to focus on receiving. I want you to write down.

 

[00:13:11] Three things every single day that you love, you loved receiving from that day and write down or notice how it feels in your body.

[00:00:00] Sheridan: If I said this in a room of coaches, I would be immediately canceled if you are considering investing in some level of support, whether that be a therapist or a coach or some type of sales specialist or copywriter or something, , you might be making a really common mistake of wanting what you think you want and then doing things that aren’t that.

 

[00:00:38] And I’m going to dive into this a little bit more in today’s episode. By the end of the episode, you will know the common mistake that keeps you feeling stuck where you are, no matter what you do, you’re going to learn uncommon advice that would literally break up the coaching industry. There we go. And the one most important step to take to use this advice, A lot of [00:01:00] what happens when we were engaging in this coaching world or in this business world or in this entrepreneurship, whether that’s online or offline, we’re often kind of pulled in the place where we start thinking that we want something that we don’t actually want and it’s not really your fault. But it is the reason that you are exhausted and unclear and you feel maybe like you’re spinning your wheels. We often grow up thinking that our desire isn’t good enough, particularly if you’ve experienced some type of tension when you were a child or some type of trauma.

 

[00:01:45] Or some type of, you know, maybe your boyfriend invalidated your desires and ideas. Um, maybe you, you think, or you’ve learned that happiness is a certain amount of money or, um, [00:02:00] happiness is looking a certain way or in order to be respected, you need to achieve X, Y, Z. We have all of this conditioning around it.

 

[00:02:08] And sometimes we’re also just lost and we don’t really know what to do, what we want. And we end up in a hole where we are led to believe that what we want is one thing because it looks so good and so shiny and so seductive and so yummy, yummy, yummy, yummy. They seem to like it a lot. Um, but sometimes it doesn’t actually align with your desire.

 

[00:02:28] And a good coach will support you in getting to your true desire, not what they think would be best either for their testimonials or what they think would be best for you or what they think would be best for their bottom line. There are certain coaches who will try to coach or manipulate you into one thing because it is beneficial to them.

 

[00:02:50] And that’s it. That sucks. That is really hard to see for me, especially as somebody who comes kind of [00:03:00] more from a therapeutic background, I can see the transference that’s occurring and it’s not pleasant. Um, But there is a lot that’s inside of your power. And what you can do is you can begin to understand one is your desire and how to identify it and also reframe how you feel around getting support and what you’re really using that support for.

 

[00:03:26] So there is a specific, uh,

 

[00:03:33] Pause, pause, pause, pause, pause. Okay. So there is a specific way that we can use to get in touch with what our true desire is. And this is something that we need regardless of whether or not we have decided to be an entrepreneur forever or We’re never going to do it because our [00:04:00] desire is something that lives inside of us.

 

[00:04:02] It is something that kind of is born through us and it is a compass or a way to navigate the world. It’s something that is expressed through you that is looking to be create manifest through you, through your body. You become the vessel for that desire. And a lot of us often, Shame that desire. We guilt it.

 

[00:04:25] We say it’s not enough. We, we try to suppress it, but the truth is that desire is energy moving through you. And that is the thing that is going to give you the energy and the motivation to actually do the things to get to the goalIt’s going to be difficult for you to cultivate in an embodied way, the motivation to move towards something that isn’t true desire of yours.

 

[00:04:52] It’s just not going to work because you don’t have the life force energy running through you. And so in order to move towards something that isn’t a true bone [00:05:00] deep desire inside of you, you are going to have to move outside of your body. You are going to have to come into dysregulation. You may achieve the goal, but you’re probably going to do it at the expense of your own integrity.

 

[00:05:13] Of your values, of your health, perhaps of your fertility, because you’re going outside of yourself and you’re exhausted, you’re gonna end up exhausted. However, when you align with a congruent desire, everything comes with so much more ease. It doesn’t mean there isn’t contention and constriction doesn’t mean that sometimes not hard, but it flows through you.

 

[00:05:36] effortlessly because you’re navigating forward in a way it is true for you. It makes sense and you can hold yourself through the ebbs and the flows and the ups and the downs because it is the bone, the deep desire that you’re made to express. Some people mistakeintuition for fear or, or like a craving or even a trauma response for true desire.[00:06:00] 

 

[00:06:00] And unfortunately I can’t sit here and tell you, well, this sensation in your belly is, is you moving towards something that’s painful for you because you don’t know what else you can do. But that sensation in your heart is you moving towards your desire. I can give you a little bit of a roadmap and understanding such as I can say, Intuition has no urgency to it.

 

[00:06:20] Fear always does. Fear is always like, I have to see that person now. I have to get this done now. I have to achieve this in the next three months. Desire is softer. It’s a yearning. There’s a basking. There’s a, Oh, I cannot wait. It’s going to be so good. We want to be in that place. Fear, uh, trauma, pain, and attachment comes always with urgency.

 

[00:06:43] But I can tell you this in a podcast, but that doesn’t change it when it’s like 10 o’clock at night and you can’t sleep and you need to figure out what to do. You need to start getting really good at understanding and articulating and understanding the different flavors of your sensations and the flavors of your heart [00:07:00] in your body.

 

[00:07:01] And the tool that I teach my clients to do this, um, is very powerful and very, very simple. And what it does is it helps you get better at experiencing your internal sensations. Unfortunately, The scope of this podcast won’t allow me to teach that tool to you today, just because we’re on a podcast and not on a training call.

 

[00:07:24] Uh, but what I can ask you to do is to start paying more attention to the different types of sensations that you have in your body and to begin identifying when I am considering working with somebody. Am I, Am I feeling any, any fear and there’s a different, sometimes fear is helpful. Am I feeling any urgency?

 

[00:07:49] Am I doing what I think I should do or am I doing what I want? Am I doing what I want because what I want is good enough or am I doing what I think that I should do? That’s the question that I [00:08:00] want you to take away. Am I doing what I want because what I want deserves to be taken action on or am I doing what I think that I should do?

 

[00:08:08] You my love want to do what you want and I want to teach you how to do what you want because you, what you want is the way that you, you stay juicy and full and lit up the rest of your life. And it’s also how people like to give you money. People like it when you do what you want. Don’t forget this.

 

[00:08:22] People like it when you do what you want. So we need to get really good at feeling on the inside and we need to pay more attention to what we’re feeling on the inside. And we need to learn how to understand when something is shoulds and fears and when something is, Oh, this is my desire and I want to move in.

 

[00:08:38] And that’s how you get, how you avoid being gas lit. Because when you are so deeply in touch with your feelings and your desire, you, You will understand is this my desire or is this somebody else’s should and I will teach this to you and I don’t have to you can learn it without me you can learn it through other people and 

[00:09:00] I am passionate about teaching it so I will teach it and if you want you can reach out to me but I’m not teaching I’m not saying this so that you you work out you end up working with me I’m saying it so that you get in touch with your desire so that you become more of you in the world.

 

[00:09:16] Hmm. And to help you become more of you in the world, you’re going to need more support. Help is what is needed to do big things, big visions, big changes, big intro, like transformative intergenerational changes only happen with help. So I want you to understand what happens to your nervous system when you have support and what happens when you don’t, what it means to have support.

 

[00:09:43] And then you can take action. Uh, really loving action to decide is the pot is working with a coach, something that I really, really want in this moment. God, it’s taken me so many years to, to learn this. So when you don’t have [00:10:00] support, um, You will get to your dreams. I have no doubt that you will. I believe in you, but it might be harder and it might take longer because you can’t see certain things or be as creative, not because you suck at it, but just because your nervous system isn’t designed to hold everything that you want alone.

 

[00:10:19] Contrary to popular Western opinion, um, and culture, we are social beings and we are social systems. And when you’re born with a desire in your heart, it, It is actually larger than you. It is larger than your nervous system. It is an idea. It is an idea. It is an idea and it is not manifest yet. And your nervous system does this thing through neuroception where it starts to feel into the nervous systems of the people around it and When you are in a space with at least one other person, it feels safer when they are a safe person.

 

[00:10:57] It feels safer. So it gives you [00:11:00] access to different emotions, different insights, different feelings, um, different creation and innovation and things like that. And it makes it easier for you to see patterns in the world that you might want to change. It makes it easier for you to see patterns in yourself, your thinking, your emotions, and your actions that may not be supportive for you.

 

[00:11:22] And it also makes it easier to feel like if I believe. In my vision and somebody else believes in my vision, the nine now have the confidence to go and do it. You weren’t meant meant to do any of this alone at all. It was never designed to that with social beings. And when your nervous system knows that it has supports, it can soften and it can kind of offload some of the pain that you’re feeling or some of the creation that you’re feeling or some of the ideas that you’re feeling.

 

[00:11:52] It can kind of delegate that. Those things to the other person’s nervous system, and then it can focus 

 

[00:12:00] on the things that only you can do. Sometimes that’s gonna be healing trauma. Sometimes that’s going to be thinking of ways to revolutionize your industry and be creative. Sometimes that’s going to be, you know, completely changing the way that you do your parenting, because that’s the thing that’s taking up so much energy that’s stopping you from feeling confident in your work.

 

[00:12:25] Sometimes that’s going to be. Artistry and creation and expression. Now, when you do have support, I want to be clear. It’s not that you necessarily like need it. And that’s, that means that somehow you failed. I noticed a lot of people being like, ah, I don’t really need it. And my question to you is like, okay, cool.

 

[00:12:46] But like, do you want it? But. Do you want to, does it make your life easier? Does it make you a better human being? Does it make you better at loving people, better at loving your creation? Does it make you more confident? Does it make you more effective? You, you don’t probably need it. You won’t die [00:13:00] without it.

 

[00:13:00] I don’t think. Um, but having it isn’t bad. You don’t need to suffer through life. You can actually enjoy your life and your life can be easy because here’s a Surprising thing. My love, you deserve it. And it sounds really cliche, but like you deserve it. You actually do. Having support doesn’t mean that you failed.

 

[00:13:16] It doesn’t mean that you can’t do things by yourself. It doesn’t mean you’re irresponsible with money. It’s more about you making and taking the decision to put yourself in environments and situations where you are best set up to experience the ups and downs of life or the harder emotions of lifeor the contrast of life or the confusing parts of life so that you can be more innovative, more focused, more creative, a better partner, a better lover, a better citizen.

 

[00:13:43] It just make things less difficult. That is going to decrease your cortisol. It’s going to regulate your hormones. It’s going to improve your skin. You’re going to like literally like lose weight and emotionally, mentally, physically all of these things because you can put [00:14:00] yourself in environments where you feel so nourished and supported because life doesn’t have to be hard.

 

[00:14:09] Life doesn’t have to be hard. So my loves, if you haven’t already listened to episode number one on one called desirethe way to overlap. The first one that we’re going to dive into is something that a lot of coaches are 

 

[00:01:00] trying to manipulate you around, actually, to be completely honest.

 

[00:01:03] The first skill that you are going to master as a very, very smart entrepreneur who wants financial freedom without burnout is you’re going to get really good at identifying your desires.

 

[00:01:15] Oh, you’re going to get so good at identifying your desires. I’m not going to dive super into it. How do I, how to do that? Um, simply because I think we have another episode planning on that. Um, but I recently went into this with my coaching clients, my group coaching practice with shameless sales. And the honest truth of it is, is that a lot of us, especially if we have female nervous systems that are doused in estrogen and socialized as women, we experience that.

 

[00:01:43] Especially if we have trauma, one, we don’t know what desire really feels like in our body. Maybe even that word kind of like make you kind of like, Oh, what desire? Um, uh, we, we don’t believe in our capacity to actually get our desire. Um, or there’ve been a time where getting a desire was [00:02:00] completely impossible or, or even perhaps dangerous in that looking and moving towards it created a lot of emotional and mental or even physical discomfort and pain.

 

[00:02:09] Um, um, Or because we don’t really know if we can get there, we don’t know if it’s safe to get there, we end up suppressing it, ignoring it, or just never asking for support to get there. So we don’t know how to feel desire in our body. But here’s the thing about financial freedom, and here’s the thing about entrepreneurship, and here’s the thing about doing things the easy way without burnout, is that your body is going to provide you with the energy required to pursue the desires that lie innate inside of it.

 

[00:02:38] Your desires on always something that you can necessarily choose. They’re just things that you want on a visceral level, things that you believe would make you happy. And some of them are, are kind of negotiable. Like I kind of like, I want this, but it could kind of look like this. That like, it’s kind of like, you know, this would kind of satiate that, but, and some of them are very, very [00:03:00] extremely specific and it has to be that very specific thing.

 

[00:03:02] And I’m, I need you to guys to be honest about what it is that you desire. Now, when you’re working with me, we use different somatic tools, body based tools, um, that increase your capacity to feel inside of your body so that you can feel more of this desire. We also move past any blocks, uh, that your body may have that.

 

[00:03:24] Make it hard to identify your desire and then we empower you and we make sure that you know the exact steps that you need to take in order to move towards your desire. [00:03:44] Want you to feel into your body and I want you to just kind of answer this question and it’s pretty simple It’s if I could have anything that I wanted in the world What would it be if you’re really honest with yourself? Is it about making more money? Do you do you want more [00:04:00] money so that you can do XYZ?

 

[00:04:02] Do you want more money so that you can go to Greece next month? Do you want more money so that you can? um Leave your your nine to five job. Do you want more money so that you can write your book? Do you want more money so that you can be more present with your kids? Is your desire being present with your kids?

 

[00:04:19] Is it being being free so that you can travel? What’s your actual desire? Do you want sustainable income so that it can create a sustainable retirement plan for you or Would you be fine if there was a retirement plan, but you had a big cash injection They didn’t earn any money for a little bit longer.

 

[00:04:38] What is it that you want? Do you want to do all of these things because you think that it’s gonna help you have a deeper relationship with your partner? Do you want your partner to take the lead in business so that you can spend more time in the afternoon by the pool? This is what you’re going to identify and be honest about about your experience desire [00:05:00] because it is my job to help you get closer to your true body based desire.

 

[00:05:05] That’s the thing that you’re going to have energy for. And some people are going to try and convince you that it’s one thing because that’s the thing that they sell. Ooh, but I’m not interested in working with people just for the sake of working with people. I’m not in this to make a quick buck. I am in this cause I want, and I believe that the world is better when people pursue their body based intelligence and their desires.

 

[00:05:28] And so when you are, When you join me, uh, on inside of, uh, your embodied sales call a body based business, which I’m going to share a step towards. There’s a step that you can take today that will help you identify your, your desire. I’m going to share that at the end of the episode, but that’s step number one, um, skill number one, and the step to take towards.

 

[00:05:50] To get there will be shared at the end of the episode. Skill number two. A lot of people think I need to be spot out to make money. This is not true. These are separate skills. So the [00:06:00] skill is that once you’re clear on what it is that you actually desire, I want you to be clear on the skills that you need to get there.

 

[00:06:06] Some people find themselves asking the question of like, do I need another certification or do I need to learn copywriting or do I need to learn X, Y, Z. Um, You may desire that, but it doesn’t actually mean that you need to learn that skill in order to increase your income or have financial freedom without burnout.

 

[00:06:27] Increasing your income requires increasing the value that you put out in the world. It means you’re increasing your capacity to receive, and it also increases the capacity that you have to sell. Income is about relationships. It is about serving humans. It is not about how much you know. I’m going to say that again.

 

[00:06:44] You do not need to be smarter in order to make more money. You have to be better at relationships. What affects relationships? Trauma and nervous system regulation. That’s why relationships. being perceived, being judged, [00:07:00] connecting with humans, asking them deep questions. That’s why they can be so difficult because we all experience some level of trauma around them.

 

[00:07:06] But you’re doing an awesome, awesome job so far because you’re here. So if your true desire for any reason at all is to have an increased income, keep listening. If you really want to do that without feeling overwhelmed and anxious or depressed or like you’re flopping and you’re stuck, you’re in the right place.

 

[00:07:25] The skill that you are going to focus on the. The skill that you are going to hone in on and master so that you can do all the things that you desire is developing your somatic sales strategy. This is a process my clients complete that creates their sales report that they are proud of. It aligns with their nervous system needs.

 

[00:07:43] It aligns with their values and it aligns with what their clients need to feel supported in their decision making process, AKA sales. We focus on this somatic sales strategy and developing this skill so that your development of the skill, your master of the skill is [00:08:00] more potent and it’s easier for the body to do one new thing at a time instead of two.

 

[00:08:04] Meaning it’s easier for you to learn to increase your income through sales and then learn how to do pottery or how to do the yoga teacher training or how to understand polyvagal theory afterwards. Once you have that. that higher income in creating that cushion so that you can actually relax and spend the afternoon studying whatever it is that you desire because you know that your revenue is sorted.

 

[00:08:28] Because when we do two things at a time, so I’m learning two skills at a time, especially if I’m not feeling very cushiony financially, it ends up being really overwhelming to the body. It’s too uncertain. And the subconscious will kind of want to like push block it away. It doesn’t want to like take that in.

 

[00:08:46] It can’t, it’s so much for the body to come in. So what we want to do instead is create so much cushion in your finances by solving the sales problem so that you have enough capacity, enough ease to take in all of the information that [00:09:00] you’re curious about. And if you’re curious about studying other things or investing in other things, that way your business is growing without an extra toll on your body.

 

[00:09:10] And You have solutions to sell to people. You have value that you can give and you’re confident that you can, that you can do it. You’re confident that you can master it. You can confident that you can do it effortlessly. So that’s your vibe. And you’re into pursuing your desires. You need to be inside of body based business.

[00:00:00] Sheridan: You are about to learn exactly how to leverage collaborations to make more sales. By the end of today’s episode, you will know why you’re not making sales from collaborations and exactly how to fix it. The three nervous system keys holding you back from making sales from all of your hard work and collaborations and exactly what to do to convert collaborations that you put effort into, into income, into your pocket and ease into your body.


[00:00:40] If this following description sounds like you, you are in the exact correct space and you need to open your notes app and take notes. You have collaborated with a colleague, it’s somebody who you respect, they respect, you’ve done some level of collaboration, maybe it was that you hosted some type of [00:01:00] workshop.


[00:01:00] Live event or you provided something for free or there was some type of networking involved or you know, you guys had this really awesome plan and you were so convinced that you would do this Instagram live or this podcast guest or this, um, free thing in their, in their program. And it fell flat. Um, it did not convert to the income that you were expecting and you’re kind of looking at it right now and you feel stumped, you feel confused, you feel frustrated, your shoulders are heavy, you don’t like looking at the numbers, maybe you’re even annoyed at yourself or annoyed at the other person.


[00:01:34] It feels like they didn’t like do their job well enough or you feel like they were dropped that you, I don’t know, it feels something has gone wrong. You’re criticizing yourself or you’re criticizing them or you’re starting to feel a little bit defeated and maybe you’re feeling a little bit concerned because your pipeline, , doesn’t look the way that you want it to.


[00:01:54] So let’s get down to the Very direct. And I’m going to say this with love, but it’s a very direct truth 


[00:02:00] to collaborate is one skill to convert a sale into to convert that exchange into a sale is another skill. So if you’re landing on this episode, you’re probably feeling that 

exhaustion. And then you’re probably doing a lot of sales.


[00:02:14] Sorry. You’re probably doing a lot of collaborations and You’re probably choosing to do these collaborations because in your mind, you’re like, well, this makes sense. You know, like I expand my audience through these things. , and then because I expand my audience and because I expand my impact, then I’m going to reach more people that I’m going to be able to sell to these people.


[00:02:34] And then these people are going to purchase my product or my, my service. And then. I can provide more value and I can get paid to do so. Probably what’s happened, right? That actually makes sense. There’s nothing wrong with that. That’s very logical. I’m like, I’m down for that. That’s actually true to a certain extent for different people at different times.


[00:02:53] However, what I’m curious about is that you’re experiencing the thoughts, emotions, and impulses to focus [00:03:00] on collaborations. For a reason. And I don’t know if it’s because you were told to do that, or somebody invited you to do that and you didn’t really know what else to do. Or I don’t know if it’s because maybe you’ve hit an upper limit with your selling.


[00:03:14] I don’t know. I don’t know if it’s that you think that your audience is too small or I don’t know, unless your conversion rate for sales is really, really high compared to your industry and the methods that you’re using, which is going to depend, depending on what you’re doing. Expanding to collaboration without having a high conversion rate and without having certainty on what converts is more often than not just another way to spin your wheels.


[00:03:41] And you’re probably doing it because you are judging your ability to sell, or you’re not sure if you can close a sale, or you think that if you had more income, you would be a bad person. Or you feel like, okay, like I’ve made this amount of money. Can I actually make more from this audience? Is that even possible?


[00:03:58] Or maybe you’re distracting yourself [00:04:00] with shiny object syndrome and not focusing on work that converts into income because everything has gone really, really well. And your body is freaking out going, Oh my God, what? This is too good to be true. Quickly divert, get distracted. Don’t let us go there.


[00:04:13] Because if I go there. Like, it’s so good. What if it all fell, what if it all fell apart? What if I was a bad person for having it? Um, is it even possible? Like it just, I don’t even, I can’t even imagine that that would be possible for me. Right. And so we often end up prioritizing these collaborations, not because they are the smart thing to do, but because our nervous system says, Oh, avoid selling, avoid income, avoid having that more difficult conversation with that person who said no, but you, and you just like left it.


[00:04:47] You didn’t get really curious about why they said no, because I’m comfortable, but really like the juiciness and the income and the ease. that you’re looking for is actually in the things that you’re [00:05:00] avoiding right now. Let’s look back at what sales is. Sales is an exchange of confidence. Sales is providing a sales consultation provides clarity.


[00:05:11] You need clarity for sales and sales is congruent. So if your nervous system is like feeling a little bit weird about you earning more money, um, it’s going to, It’s going to be harder for you to sell and it’s going to be harder for you to convert all of your amazing collaborations into sales. Because when we are looking at these collaborations, what we’re doing and what our primal bodies are doing with other people in front of us and the people that are possibly considering purchasing from us, what their primals are doing, if we’re doing this thing, we’re kind of reading each other in very little micro moments and we’re, We’re kind of reading.


[00:05:48] We’re like, Oh, what’s this person’s relationship to the thing that they’re selling? What’s their relationship to the money? What is their relationship to me watching them right now? Um, what is, what is, what’s happening in the


[00:06:00] primal body? And so when you, and they’re looking for you to be confident in what you’re doing, they’re looking for you to be clear and they’re looking for you to be congruent in what you’re doing.


[00:06:10] And so a lot of the time, what happens to amazing women that I work with, you know, you guys are smart. Like you guys are smart. And you have had a lot of, like, you’re good at what you do and you’ve been paid for it well before. And a lot of time what happens is that you, Get to this point where you almost like hit your own ceiling and because your relationships to things going well and improving can sometimes be difficult because your brain wants to preempt future problems and it believes that there’s a future problem.


[00:06:45] It believes that there’s something to fix in the future. It believes that the shoe is about to drop. A lot of what your work to do isn’t mastering the collaborations. It’s allowing your nervous system to be okay, okay? With things being better and more affluent [00:07:00] and easier for, for you compared to last year, you compared to last week and your ancestors.


[00:07:07] This is an upper limit problem. This is you teaching your nervous system that it can receive more of the good stuff. And this is you learning how to use your own somatic sales strategy to master your way of selling now. Because the truth is what worked before won’t necessarily work now in closing. In closing sales, especially if they’ve come from collaboration, especially because you’ve been using an old map, you are now a new person.


[00:07:36] Congratulations. You’ve arrived. Your body needs a new map for new sales because you are entering a world where the better it gets, the better it gets. And it is time to break through your own upper limit, your own glass ceilings. A semantic sales strategy is something that people get to experience when they come in to body based business.


[00:07:57] They get the opportunity to [00:08:00] experience creating their own somatic sales strategy that will help them break past this upper limit. This is so that you can stop spinning your wheels, going to work that leaves you exhausted and instead increase your income, nervous, stress, system capacity to receive the benefits from all the work you’ve done so far and increase your income as soon as next week.

[00:01:13] And somebody asked, They kind of said, you know, I’m selling this thing and, and I have imposter syndrome about it. And I shared this audio clip. [00:01:38] Sheridan: 

 

 

[00:01:40] Okay. I’m going to tell you something about imposter syndrome that nobody tells you and that the personal development industry likes to pretend isn’t real. There’s a problem in the personal development industry because we’ve taken imposter syndrome 

 

 

[00:02:00] and we have kind of gone from there. Spiritually or positively kind of toxic positivity or spiritually gas lit the feeling of, well, if you have imposter syndrome, it means that you need to heal something within yourself, which further exasperates.

 

 

[00:02:17] This feeling of there’s something wrong with me. Two things are true about imposter syndrome. Number one, it tells us where we have a value of refining our work. It tells us where we genuinely desire to be better at something and to have more external evidence that we are good at something. That is normal.

 

 

[00:02:42] It is normal for the human creation to want somebody it’s, it’s a part of that feedback loop of creativity. Every great artist, every great philosopher, every great revolutionary leader has looked to others to provide feedback.

 

 

[00:03:00] That’s how we learn to serve. And that’s how we refine our skills. So it is possible that if you are experiencing imposter syndrome and part of you is saying, I’m not, I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to provide this X, Y, Z, it is possible that there is a very intelligent desire inside of you saying, you know what, I actually want to practice that a couple of times and get some feedback.

 

 

[00:03:25] Because if we take them, if we take for a second, if we remove this idea that there’s something wrong with you, there’s something that you need to fix, and there’s something that you need to heal. Receiving that feedback is it’s actually a collaborative. It’s like, Hey guys, I have this dream that I’m looking to accomplish, and I actually need a little bit of help getting it out there.

 

 

[00:03:43] What do you reckon? Can you help me in this way? If you stop taking it so personally, your shame is your shame body is, is the reason that you’re taking it personally and that’s okay, there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s normal. We all have it. My invitation is how can [00:04:00] you take the wisdom of the Of this imposter syndrome, which is in part and only in part, oh, I actually do want more feedback.

 

 

[00:04:11] I actually, or I do want to learn something, or I do want to kind of like, I want to gift this to a couple of people and just kind of see if that, if that feels good. You know, I just, I like I’m running, I’ve been writing a book now for a year, it’ll be a year in a couple of months. And I’ve done numerous iterations and I’ve asked for feedback because it’s a collaborative process.

 

 

[00:04:35] And I need to know when I communicate in this way, does it support you?

 

 

[00:04:42] So that’s real. So there might be a part of you. That’s like, I actually do want to benefit. And so we’re going to put that there. We’re going to come back to it. Then there’s usually another part of us that thinks that there’s something wrong with us and says, and that’s, I think what people are trying to get around when they tell you to, [00:05:00] like, you’re not really an imposter,

 

 

[00:05:04] it’s kind of saying, well, there’s something wrong with me. It’s like, well, no, it’s not. And you don’t even need to heal the fact that you think that there. 

 

 

[00:05:12]

[00:00:29] Nine surprising, often forgotten common sides, guilt and shame is decreasing your capacity to bring in income, care for yourself and lead your community and the three step body based process to heal your receiving mood and bring in more success, income and intimacy. Hi, my name is Sheridan.

 

 

[00:00:46] I am a trauma therapist, yoga therapist, and nervous system specialist for entrepreneurs. And it’s time that you learned the nine surprising often forgotten signs that guilt and shame is decreasing your capacity to bring in income, care for [00:01:00] yourself and lead your community. Let’s have a look. Number one is you have this thought in your mind that says, I don’t want to do it for the money.

 

 

[00:01:08] I just want to serve people. Now, don’t get me wrong. It’s really lovely to serve. And I definitely go through my own periods of growth where my orientation is more towards just serving and providing value versus looking at necessarily how much money that’s bringing in. But there’s this good girl mentality that we create that is, that is kind of conditioned, into our psyche and into our nervous system and into what is the norm, especially for women’s nervous system, where we think that we’re better if we are not doing something for the money.

 

 

[00:01:42] This is closely related to an idea that It’s a very spiritual idea as well that being poor somehow makes you a better person, , that it is somehow more noble and that rich people are bad. These are stories that become almost stitched into and weaved into the fascia and the body and they live [00:02:00] inside of our bodies.

 

 

[00:02:00] If you guys have heard, The Body Keeps the Skullwonderful book if you haven’t read it. And so, um, If we have this conditioning that’s living inside of our muscles and our bones and our breath, that being poor or not having enough money will somehow make me a better person. Then I’m shaming even the parts of me that say, Oh yeah, but I actually want to live with a little bit more overflow.

 

 

[00:02:23] I actually want to be able to donate. I want to be able to invest. I want to be able to buy things organic and locally, or I just want to be able to buy a new iPad or go to Greece. There is that part of us that we begin shaming. We’re shaming the part of us that does want more, that does want ease, that does want abundance, that does want comfort.

 

 

[00:02:45] And that part of us lives inside of us for a reason, but your good girl complex or your good girl conditioning is creating guilt and shame towards that part of you. And it’s overriding the part of you that is made to live in

 

 

[00:03:00] abundance. We are very primal creatures and we are always made to expand, right?

 

 

[00:03:05] So we’re here to support things in expansion, whether that be spiritual, whether that be financial, whether that be intellectual human beings, our nature is to expand and that includes expanding your resources and expanding your impact. However, when you buy into this idea, Dear, or this story that shame tells you, or the guilt tells you is that it’s better to do things for the money, sorry, to do things to serve instead of for the money you’re operating from a place of having more or expanding that which is your natural nature is wrong.

 

 

[00:03:44] And so of course things are going to feel off. Of course things are going to feel incongruent. They’re going to feel out of alignment. They’re going to feel weird. They’re going to feel sticky. These are some of the other signs that guilt and shame is decreasing your capacity to bring in income. We begin operating from 

 

[00:04:00] like a heaviness in the body or a tension in the jaw or even a constriction in or this happens many women in their womb.

 

 

[00:04:07] That’s that space of creation where we expand things. There’s an energetic connection there. Um, and Or we have a lot of shoulders that go forward. We have really bad posture. We wake up with tension in our body in the nighttime. Um, There’s this overarching heavy, it feels like something is wrong. It feels like I’m, I’m, I’m always behind.

 

 

[00:04:30] These are signs that you’re operating from the shame body, not your true regulated nervous system self. It can also be experienced in thoughts as, I don’t want to be a pushy. I don’t want to be pushy. I don’t want to be salesy. When I see someone who has those thoughts, what it tells me is that you feel that, you know, One, you have a kind of a interesting relationship with sales that has come oftentimes from conditioning of like, of not really understanding the service that sales is sales is a [00:05:00] service.

 

 

[00:05:00] It’s the service. It’s a nonjudgmental space and container that a salesperson provides to another individual so that they can make the best decision for themselves. It is a place of empowerment. It is a place of consulting. Um, And it is not a place of manipulation. However, guilt and shame will say, ah, it’s icky and it’s sticky.

 

 

[00:05:21] And you’re wrong if you want more and you’re wrong if you benefit or you’re wrong if you get something out of this because you’re better when you’re small and you’re better when you don’t have enough and you can be like the poor, the poor little noble victim. Hmm. Interesting. Right. And so it’s decreasing your capacity to bring in income to expand your resources.

 

 

[00:05:44] And by the way, my beautiful, beautiful embodied entrepreneur, you expanding your resources, you investing in your community, you investing in shares, you investing in your family, you do good things with your money. We want more money in your hands. So these are

 

 

[00:06:00] some of the other signs. Some of the other signs is like this feeling of like, I don’t want to be perceived as one of those people.

 

 

[00:06:04] I don’t want to be judged to be pushy. I don’t want to be judged to be obsessed with something. I don’t want to be seen in that way. This is a sign that shame is hijacking your system. It’s giving you thoughts, emotions, and feelings and impulses to help you be a certain way because you think that that’s going to keep you safer in the tribe.

 

 

[00:06:26] You think that if you can control the way other people see you, that will make you safer. That is not true. People are going to judge you no matter what. The safest way to get to where you want to be in life is to find safety in this moment and pursue that. Safety comes both from external resources, external experiences, and internal.

 

 

[00:06:50] If you hate yourself and you consistently give yourself more shame, then you’re not safe. More feelings of shame, more of that shutdown rate, dysregulated nervous system where your

 

 

[00:07:00] body’s resources can’t go to things like digestion and healing. It’s not a very safe place for your body to be. And I would probably say, especially in today’s environment, the more money you have in your bank account, the safer you are because you have more options.

 

 

[00:07:15] It’s very unfortunate. Um, it’s not a direct correlation, but. It does support you in having things like time to take, being able to take time off, being able to pursue medical treatment in different ways, being able to pursue preventative medical treatment, et cetera. Another, um, sign that guilt and shame is decreasing your capacity to bring in income, care for yourself, and lead your community is, that you’re really concerned with

 

 

[00:07:48] preempting some type of trouble. It feels like there’s foot is about to drop or you feel like you’re always kind of running either trying to run faster so that like something bad doesn’t happen or like [00:08:00] somebody doesn’t realize that you don’t know what you’re doing or something or that like you’re about to get in trouble for some reason.

 

 

[00:08:07] This is usually a sign that an inner child has been triggered. It feels like If you make a mistake, it will be really, really bad. It’s probably because at some point in your life, it was bad. There was like a, uh, a punishment of some sort, uh, either very overt. Uh, or it was more of a energy that you perceive from your parents that created tension because you did something quote unquote wrong, uh, but it feels like you’re going to get in trouble.

 

 

[00:08:32] The last one is that you really just want to be a good person or a good girl. You want to be a good mom. You want to be a good partner. You want to be a good roommate. You want to be a good girlfriend. You want to be, you want to be really good. Oh, you just want to be good so badly. Why do you want to be good?

 

 

[00:08:46] Because you think that being good is going to help you be safe. This is the natural way. that the female, particularly the female nervous system creates safety. We appease and we please those 

 

 

[00:09:00] around us. Our nature is beautiful. We are made to kind of mesh and meld into the systems and the structures around us.

 

 

[00:09:08] However, It doesn’t necessarily work all the time. Sometimes it’s beautiful to be the shapeshifter and she who can experience the world in different ways and she who can take on different identities, et cetera. , and sometimes it’s supportive to work towards your values and to, I know your values and be an ethical person.

 

 

[00:09:26] I’m not saying don’t do these things. I’m saying that sometimes your desire to be good. Good comes at the expense of your own wellbeing because you do not work towards your goals because you do not value yourself enough to say, I will not do that job. I will not work for free. I will not do that exchange.

 

 

[00:09:48] Or because you’re not worthy. In that sales meeting, and all of a sudden, all of a sudden your good goal conditioning takes over. Your, your awareness and your intention slips into yourself, and you start thinking, am I doing

 

 

[00:10:00] this right? And the person in front of you who is so enraptured in your presence prior and was listening to your pitch and was ready to say yes, they say, wait, what?

 

 

[00:10:09] She, she went away. Now she’s concerned about herself. I can feel that she’s not with me. Where is she? You know, you’re in your head, they don’t feel you. It’s really awkward. Now you kind of stumble over your words and then you try to close the deal and you just can’t, because what happened is you got insecure because you were too concerned about being good and getting it right.

 

 

[00:10:28] That you missed that you moved out of the present moment. You tried to put yourself in somebody else’s structure when you forgot that your way of doing things, your way of flowing with the energy, your way of trusting your body’s cues and being able to read other people works.

 

 

[00:10:48] Don’t worry so much about being a good girl, worry about being you. Then you’re going to have income come in. Then you’re going to be able to lead your community. Then you’re going to be able to care for yourself.

I could, This is now the motivational speech that you guys have had, but how do we actually do it in real life? Well, beautiful. This knife, you were sitting in front of me and you were my client.

 

 

[00:11:20] I would take you through the three step buddy based process. This is the foundation for buddy based business and most of my work. In fact, this formula is currently trademark pending. It’s in its process. It should be, um, registered by the end of September and there are three steps. Number one. It’s regulation.

 

 

[00:11:38] Number two is trauma healing. We’re going to go into beliefs around this. And number three is anchor and apply. So number one regulated, let’s make sure that we’re coming to this space from a place of regulation, which means we need to know is our nervous system is in the sympathetic or the parasympathetic response.

 

 

[00:11:55] So we want to, you know, Like, look, are we coming at this from a place of anxiety? I have to

 

 

[00:12:00] figure this out right now. Oh my God. Urgency. Are we coming to this a place from a place of, of more of a fight of like, I’ve got to figure this out now. If not, like there’s something wrong with me. Um, and you’re trying to like push forward.

 

 

[00:12:12] Are we feeling more of a phone? Are you actually engaging in this so that you can please somebody else? Is this more of a people please of like, I don’t really know what to do. So I guess I’ll just like try to figure this out, which is just, by the way, a good girl, a lot of people who operate in the good girl tend to be more of that full on place.

 

 

[00:12:29] Like you’re trying to almost like please your partner or live up to their expectations or your boss’s expectations or your, your audience. You’re like, what do you guys need and want? Because then I can provide it. Um, or are you completely feeling overwhelmed? Freeze, blue, shut down, hopeless, docile, vagal, collapse, where just everything feels impossible.

 

 

[00:12:49] No matter what we do, we want to come back to regulation, which is like, okay, cool. I’m noticing a pattern, not a big deal. Um, I don’t really love it. It’s not helping me right now, but I’d like

 

 

[00:13:00] to, you know, Just kind of change it a little bit. We want to come back there and we can do that by using tools like emotional alchemy, which is a tool that you’ll get access to, uh, when you join body based business, or you can use a tool such as the nervous system regulation PDF, which is a free PDF that I will have the link to download, uh, which provides really, really wonderful ways to regulate your nervous system without needing a lot of tools.

 

 

[00:13:26] space or privacy. If you do not have this PDF, like you need it, like me and my clients, we live by it. It’s amazing. Uh, I’ll make sure the links down below to get that. Number two is we want to look at the subconscious, deeply unconscious. I’m using the word trauma. Uh, trauma might be something that was really big to you.

 

 

[00:13:47] big that has created like this need for you to be a good girl. It might be something smaller, such as I am expected to be a good girl or my role in life is. It sounds smaller, but it’s not really my role in life 

 

 

[00:14:00] is to like serve other people as, as the female in the community or something like that. Um, it could be something else, uh, but we’re going to really look at what is, what are the beliefs that your body or what is holding, which create kind of the structures that your nervous system experiences in life.

 

 

[00:14:20] And. Um, and then of course the emotions and the thoughts and the impulses that it gives you or does not give you. So we’re looking at trauma healing around that. For some of you, that means that we’re going to have to do, you know, a quite a deep emotional trauma release around an integration around, you know, maybe there’s a fear if I’m not, if I’m not a good girl, maybe I developed this persona because.

 

 

[00:14:42] My parents got divorced, and you know, that was really hard on me. And so this is what’s really get me through. Um, Maybe I just don’t really know what else to do. And this is what I saw my aunties do. So I just kind of did this and I don’t really, don’t really know what else. Once we do that, we’ve come to a place of regulation and clarity and equity.

 

 

[00:14:59] [00:15:00] Quantity inside, and we’re open to new possibilities. We’re going to anchor into something and apply it through action. This is where things actually change. This is one of the biggest differences between a lot of healing work. That’s very beautiful, very impactful, but we’re not, we need to actually apply it to strategy.

 

 

[00:15:14] We need to change the systems inside of your business. We, by anchoring into a belief by embodying a certain version of yourself and by taking action that is aligned with that. that. This is where we’re going to change your sales strategy just slightly. This is where we’re going to change your lifestyle just slightly.

 

 

[00:15:30] This is where we’re going to change the way that you write emails just slightly or the way that you show up or even the way that you speak with the people that you live with just slightly. We’re going to anchor and apply. For example, it’s like what actions would you take if you deeply, deeply believed, which by the way you will.

 

 

[00:15:48] By the time you get through step two, when you’re in your coaching call is what actions would you take if you truly believe that the best contribution that you can have to yourself and to society is by 

 

 

[00:16:00] making more money in the ways that feel correct for you. If you really knew that you were a good, valuable, beautiful human being, and that it was safe to be the wealthy one or the affluent one or she who is direct and assertive.

 

 

[00:16:16] Or even a loof. What would that actually be like for you? You’re going to learn all of these things when you join body based business. And no, this has absolutely nothing to do with men . In today’s episode, you’re going to learn the surprising thing that can happen when you heal your divine masculine, along with what That actually means and all the misconceptions around it.

 

[00:00:34] You’re going to learn the one thing that all smart female entrepreneurs can learn from the divine masculine and the men around you. And the one 90 second embodiment practice to cultivate the divine masculine inside so that you can feel more ease, less anxiety, experience more intimacy. Erica, for recommending this podcast.

 

[00:00:56] I appreciate it. I actually got inspired in the middle of my [00:01:00] shower and kind of recorded a little voice note while after our conversation. And if, if I can, if there’s any discerning parts of that voice note from my shower conversation with myself, I’ll, I’ll include it in the edit. But yeah, that was fun.

 

[00:01:17] So let’s dive in. I think we need to discern, first of all, what the divine masculine is and what the divine feminine is. Now, this can be related to sex and gender, but it’s, it’s not necessarily in the way that I’m speaking about it today. The divine masculine and the divine feminine are energies that exist.

 

[00:01:37] They’re archetypes. They’re ways of experiencing energy. They’re different ways that you can experience the world or that you can posture yourself from the world. Every single person has both inside of us. We have both the divine masculine and the divine feminine. Each person in each different moment, literally moment of their life, experiences a different combination of these energies.[00:02:00] 

 

[00:02:00] But we are that which experiences both. Both of them. A lot of the time these things are misunderstood and so, and they’re kind of taken to a place of wounding or we experience a really big trigger around them. So I’m going to explain what they mean to me for the context of this episode. We’re not going to do a deep dive into them.

 

[00:02:19] There will be a time and a space for us to do that. It is not today. The concept of Let’s think about the concept of the masculine. Masculine, the divine masculine is a container. It is he who observes. And now we’re pulling on tantric, um, philosophy, yogic philosophy and polarity and kind of elements of Taoism and the I Ching.

 

[00:02:42] But the masculine is the He who observes, it’s the container, it is that which kind of protects the space and provides a space where the feminine gets to be the energy. The masculine is [00:03:00] the container of observance, it is everything that is a boundary, it is very clear, um, and it protects this space and it provides a space for the feminine.

 

[00:03:10] The feminine is everything that is a boundary. The feminine is she who moves. The feminine is she who explores, she who dreams, she who is energy. If masculine is everything that is stillness and quietness and, and, and kind of like almost death, that kind of is nothingness, it’s the observer. The masculine is the arid desert.

 

[00:03:31] The feminine is is the amazonian jungle that is everything all at once and wants all of the things and moves very quickly and it is all of the things and aye aye aye aye she is the chaos she is the expression she is the change she is that which is forever changing and the masculine is that which is forever focused and still we have both of them inside so The one weird way that you know that you [00:04:00] need to heal your relationship with masculinity is if you’re experiencing a lack of focus, you’re experiencing anxiety, you’re experiencing a lot of uncertainty, and the one really weird thing is if you’re experiencing a lot of dysregulation.

 

[00:04:18] If you feel dysregulated, if you go into anxiety, if you go into hypercriticalism of yourself, um, perfectionism, if you go into procrastination, if you go into shame spirals where you go and you think that you’re not good enough, if you go into judgment, if you go into anything that is not a beautiful experience of receiving the moment exactly as it is right now with equanimity and peace, even if you’re experiencing big emotions.

 

[00:04:46] It is a sign that you would benefit from healing your relationship with the divine masculine. Why? Because proper regulation of your nervous system, meaning you being able to [00:05:00] experience fluctuations in the the stress response of your body will actually help you accept and accommodate all of the chaos and the change in life without associating them with your self perception.

 

[00:05:15] So think of the masculine is the frame. I am that which frames. I am that which creates, creates a space. Right? And I allow the Feminine to kind of flow through me and around me and it just changes all of the time And there’s lots of ups and downs, but I am the masculine I can experience it without collapsing and making what the feminine energy of life is doing mean anything about me.

 

[00:05:42] Right? The masculine is, is there. Whatever the feminine is doing, it doesn’t really change, the masculine just observes it. Now, a lot of what we do inside of our minds, especially as female entrepreneurs, we’re literally drenched in estrogen, which [00:06:00] means that our nervous systems tend to have more of this feminine energy in, in general.

 

[00:06:04] This is, I’m not speaking in absolutes, but we’re drenched in estrogen, meaning that we experience more of this change energy. Estrogen changes, the feminine nervous system changes, we have hormones that change all the time. And what happens a lot of the time is that we identify with being the feminine and that which changes.

 

[00:06:25] And so all of the things that happen in life and the client said this and then that person said that and now my aunt is sick and then I have to go over here and then my partner did this and this guy that I’m dating is this and what does that mean about me? is a sign that we are in this chaotic energy of the feminine.

 

[00:06:42] When we are able to cultivate a divine masculine side, It is able to observe the emotions inside of us, observe the thoughts inside of us, observe life happening through us and around us without collapsing into shame, without collapsing into what if there’s something wrong with 

 

[00:07:00] me, without spending time spiraling into what if I’ve made a mistake or what if I’m going to fail.

 

[00:07:05] When you can hold your frame, you can say, ah, this is life happening. Ah, this is the sales process, salesing. This is the people asking questions. This doesn’t mean anything about me. This is. This is the frame of me, and this is life flowing through me and around me. And so if you tend to dip into anxiety or into perfectionism or into procrastination, please come back to an embodiment practice I’m going to share with you in a moment.

 

[00:07:38] Um, my clients, I have a group program at the moment, Shameless Sales, we’ve been practicing this a little bit, so they’re going to be more familiar if you’re listening. Um, but I’m going to give it to you. The shot one in 90 seconds that you can use today, you’re going to come back to the embodiment practice.

 

[00:07:52] But before we can get to the embodiment practice, I want to talk to you about one last thing, which is the one thing that all [00:08:00] smart female entrepreneurs can learn from the divine masculine. Yeah, this is a good one. I’m in a really, uh, I’m, I’m feeling very privileged at the moment in my life because I have some really good men around me and, uh, they’re teaching me something and it is single focus.

 

[00:08:22] So the Divine Masculine and the Testosterone Soaked Nervous System has more of an ability to focus. The Estrogen Soaked Nervous System, it is really good at multitasking and it kind of feels like everything is screaming to you all at once to get things done. Whereas, the testosterone focused, um, nervous system is more about achieving one goal, resting, and then achieving the next goal, and they have this beautiful ability to focus on one thing.

 

[00:08:48] It’s really frustrating when it means that they don’t see the towel that needs to be picked up and put away, but it’s really good for achieving goals. And so smart female entrepreneurs like you and like me, 

 

[00:09:00] what we can learn is to not always prioritize our spontaneous and intuitive, um, ups and downs, but to also learn that there are moments where it behooves us, it is beneficial to us to focus.

 

[00:09:15] The masculine focuses on tackling actual problems when they occur, not before they’re a problem, The feminine tends to search for issues. We tend to look for problems to solve. Your mind is always looking for a problem to solve, right? We tend to anticipate them. We’re thinking, oh my God, but if I do this, then six months down the line, I’m going to have to solve this problem.

 

[00:09:36] The masculine says, what is my problem in this moment? What is the best way that I can solve it using the least amount of resources possible so that I can rest? Okay. Now I’m going to do that. Okay. That is complete. Great. I’m happy. I will rest now. I will sleep. Oh, okay. And there is another problem. Next step.

 

[00:09:51] Repeat. We can benefit from that. We can learn from that. It requires a little bit of discomfort, but But there’s a [00:10:00] lot to be gained at the end. We save ourselves so much time and energy. And so a mantra that I kind of lean back on is nothing is a problem until it is a problem and it is safe to focus.

 

[00:10:12] I’ll be sharing another podcast episode about that in the next coming weeks. Oh, but that’s a good one, right? Beautiful. Um, now let’s do this embodiment practice. This is a 90 second embodiment practice that you can perform daily. That is going to help you. Okay. kill your relationship with the masculine and cultivate more of the frame of observation that I just discussed.

 

[00:10:37] Um, that’s going to help you have that single focus, have less anxiety and feel less emotional or mental turbulence as it relates to what’s happening inside of your world and the external world. Let’s take a few deep breaths. Wherever you are, you can do this. Um, if you are able to please close your eyes and start feeling into your [00:11:00] body.

 

[00:11:04] And we’re just breathing here, taking a few moments. See if you can identify your spine and your shoulders. I want you to inhale, lift up your spine, and exhale feel your shoulders broaden. And I want you to just become aware of the things that are inside of you right now. You’re going to observe the sensations.

 

[00:11:26] See if you can name one. Literally say to yourself, I am aware of this sensation.

 

[00:11:36] Then you’re going to do the same but with a thought. And you’re going to be very simple about this thought. You’re going to give it a topic sentence. You’re not going to go into the thought. You’re going to observe the thought. You’re going to say, I am aware of thoughts about.

 

[00:11:57] And then you’re going to identify if there is an emotion 

 

[00:12:00] here.

 

[00:12:03] And you’re going to say to yourself, I am aware of this emotion.

 

[00:12:10] So see if you can zoom out a little. Becoming more aware of these things. Becoming aware of the sensations. Becoming aware of the emotions. Becoming aware of the thoughts.

 

[00:12:27] See if you can zoom out and become she who is aware, he who is aware,

 

[00:12:37] that which contains the experience. Now you can repeat this many, many times over. You can perfect it. You can get more elaborate about it. Um, there are many ways to play with it and to utilize it. But this is a basic, um, practice that you can begin playing with. [00:00:00] How do I qualify a lead into a sale without sounding weird and salesy? This is a question that a wonderful client of mine asked me and her and I spoke about it, obviously, but I want to speak to you about it. In today’s episode, you are going to learn how to qualify lead without sounding weird and salesy the nervous system secrets behind having conversations around sales that feel easy and effortless.

 

[00:00:41] And like you’re chatting with old friends. And the next best step that you can take to make sure that all of your sales feels easy and abundant, and you’re proud of the way that you engage in business. Let’s go. Okay. So this is really, really simple, [00:01:00] but in practice it actually gets kind of difficult, right?

 

[00:01:02] So many of us, especially if you’re listening to this podcast, we start this idea of like, I want to have a business. I want to work online. And maybe it’s because you want more freedom or maybe it’s because you, um, you’re a mom or maybe it’s because you have like a big mission or like your mom, you want to work from home or you have a big mission, you know, just out there and you feel really driven and like to pursue your purpose, right?

 

[00:01:23] That is generally why most of us get into some sort of entrepreneurial venture. And We figure out that we need to learn sales. I need to actually, you know, learn how to make money and sell things. And that’s really awesome. But then a lot of, a lot of us do is we almost get filled with this need. Um, and this need to make money or this need to make sales either.

 

[00:01:50] Sometimes it’s because we actually need money. Um, sometimes it’s also because I’ve, I’ve noticed some people kind of get into this, uh, Mindset around [00:02:00] how many deals can you close? How many leads can you convert? And there’s almost this egoic wanting to achieve, wanting to strive, wanting to be the best that begins to infiltrate these sales conversations and drive these sales conversations.

 

[00:02:15] Our fear of failure comes up. Our fear of not being worthy enough comes up. Our trauma related to how, you know, when we were a kid, when we were a kid, we It, we used to get 99, like I was never this kid, but I know people were, you used to get like 98 out of a hundred. And then our parents would say, Hmm, but why didn’t you get a hundred?

 

[00:02:34] So that kind of trauma comes up and we’re trying to do the best in every single sales conversation because we have this underlying pattern of wanting to be the best and always be good and do everything perfect. Or maybe when you were a kid, you weren’t able to really vocalize your needs. It didn’t, you know, You weren’t really in a situation where you could get a lot of your needs met.

 

[00:02:53] So you created this, um, filter around the way that you communicate. And

 

[00:03:00] so now when you’re in sales conversations, you want to say something, but you, you can’t, you, you don’t know how it’s going to be perceived. So you overthink it and end up in your head and you’re all concentrated on yourself and you miss out on the organic opportunity of connection.

 

[00:03:13] That is sales. Sales is connection. So this is the nervous system science behind sales. Sales is connection. It is clarity. It is congruence.

 

[00:03:25] That’s the nervous system science behind effective sales. Sales that are not manipulative sales that are not, um, Based in the ego. Now, I’m not saying like, there are a lot of sales people out there who are using more manipulative and controlling tactics, um, and effectively making sales. However, you, my dear beloved embodied entrepreneur, you do not want to do that.

 

[00:03:49] You don’t like it when people do it to you and you have a bit of a spidey sense. You are quite attuned to, and you are aware in your body what it feels like when you go out of

 

[00:04:00] clarity, confluence, congruence, and confidence. When you go out of authenticity or alignment or heart centeredness, whatever it is that you use to call that feeling sense, and you don’t want to be that type of salesperson.

 

[00:04:12] I also believe, and this is just a personal opinion, that as we kind of develop and As a human race, we’re becoming more sensitive to these covert, uh, insidious, icky sales tactic things. I think we’re becoming more aware of how people manipulate others and our bodies are becoming more attuned to that.

 

[00:04:37] And not wanting to be around that type of thing at the same time, you know, I work in the coaching industry. You might too. Maybe you don’t. I think our industry has lost a lot of trust and the online industries have lost a lot of trust. We’ve gone through a change in the industry where people kind of bought into this idea of something.

 

[00:04:55] And a lot of people sold things that it. They ended up backing out of, or they didn’t

 

[00:05:00] deliver on, or it was just really not so great practices. And so I think the industry has lost a lot of trust and we as business owners and as entrepreneurs need to learn how to create trust within our audience. And the way that we do that is through the nervous system because at the end of the day, that primal body is what creates trust and what helps people make empowered decisions so that they can work with you or not.

 

[00:05:26] The, the answer to how to qualify leads without sounding weird and salesy is to stop trying to qualify leads. You sound weird and salesy because you’re trying to qualify leads, because you’re trying to get somebody to do something. You’re stepping into that part of you that wants to control, in the nervous system language, we might call this kind of the fight.

 

[00:05:46] Potter that like wants to kind of like go out there and like do a thing in order to create a result that they tend to have more of that fighty energy. Um, it could even be a phone. Maybe we’re going deeper down into that freeze nervous system state where we’re like, Oh, like what can I 

[00:06:00] do to, to, to like to help you get in this thing?

 

[00:06:02] Like how can I, how can I lower the price or, um, hey, like the inclusions, the inclusions could be something else. And, uh, you know, it could be like this if, if you, if that was to help you get in there. Um, What we’re trying to do is we’re trying to use a human being to meet a need of ours, which is either, which is to make a sale.

 

[00:06:20] Uh, we don’t use human beings to, to meet our needs unless they overtly agree to do so, but in business, the human beings are not there to meet your needs. No, you show up to business needing nothing. And being of service and being of value creation and being able to help people solve the problems. That’s why we’re in business.

 

[00:06:43] Yeah. We’re going to make sure your needs are going to be met. Yes. That is self love one on one that is nervousness regulation one on one, but we don’t show up to these conversations trying to manipulate somebody else into a response so that you can get a need met. That’s gross.

 

[00:07:00] That’s why it feels icky and salesy.

 

[00:07:02] So what we need to do is we need to learn this skill. This is a skill. Um, we need to learn how to be with energy inside of the body, to be with sensation inside of the body, and to be able to perhaps hold the parts of you that are concerned about that. Um, even if it is just paying rent or that are concerned about if you’re going to, um, look back on yourself and feel like a failure at the end of the day, or that are concerned about what it might be like to not have people inside of your offering or what it might be like to have to tell somebody like that shame that we feel is shame.

 

[00:07:34] It’s shame. At the end of the day, it’s shame. Shame comes up and says, Oh, you’re not good at this. Ooh. What will people say? It’s shame. And it activates those parts of you that want to manipulate other people. And so what we need to learn to do is to be with that shame, release that shame, remove that shame, and also just be with the ability to kind of hold that activation in the body if it happens.

 

[00:07:56] And, and then, and then engage in [00:08:00] a conversation with that other individual, the other human, other soul. And. Um, with clarity about what it is that you can do, what it is that you can help for and ask questions that help them get clarity about what they need with confidence in what it is that you can do and what it is that you can help them with and confidence in your pricing and confidence in the way that you engage with them.

 

[00:08:24] This is like a body. posture, a voice, uh, and then congruence, congruence between what you are saying to them, what you believe in your mind and what your nervous system is saying and congruence with kind of what it is that they need. Is it incongruent? Is it incongruence? Does it align with what you’re really good at helping?

 

[00:08:44] And if it does, then we have a very natural conversation around, okay, great. So now we’re clear on what it is that you need. We’re confident that I’m the best person to help you get there. Okay. The congruent action would be for you to purchase my program. This is how much money it costs. And that price needs to [00:09:00] make sense with your nervous system, um, with value, market value, et cetera.
