  📍 I recently got feedback on this podcast that pissed me off, and it made me see how before when I would get feedback about the way that I was supposed to do things, I would spiral into imposter syndrome, think that I was doing it wrong, and then wonder why things felt so hard.

In today's episode, you're gonna learn why slow months or other people's opinion about what you're supposed to do can trigger your imposter syndrome and how they are actually creating it. And then how to use the energy inside of your body to stop collapsing into imposter syndrome and instead use that energy to go and get your work out into the world to support other people, to create the vision and the legacy that you see is possible.

Okay, so I hired somebody to help me with my podcast and they told me that I needed to quote unquote, like validate my content strategy through my audience's pain points. And honestly, I thought, screw you. I've made six figures with this business, running it for many, many years through different strateg, through different, um.

Uh, economies and incomes, and I know you guys, I know you so well, like that is validation, but we need to speak about this and this practice of other people coming and saying that something should look a certain way in your business and this spiral that it can create when we are acting from our imposter syndrome.

That makes you doubt yourself and makes you step away from the magic that they don't understand. Because you are an imposter syndrome, because the truth is strategy does matter. Yes. I believe in strategy. I believe in SEO. I believe in knowing the problem that you solve. And I, if you're inside of the academy, you've seen me.

I'm like, what is the problem that you solve? I believe in speaking to pain points when it helps you get somebody out of pain when it is in service of connection and. I will ask you to look at your marketing strategy and your sales strategy, who you're speaking to when we're working together, but strategy without safety.

Safety to be yourself. It doesn't work. It collapses into self-doubt, into perfectionism, into overworking, into shame, and into looking to everyone else to tell you exactly what you need to do in order to be successful. What actually works. It's nervous system works. It's the regulation. It's knowing how to be a master of your energy, how to feel what's happening in your body without reacting from it.

If you feel pressure to prove or to perform, what can you learn to hold that pressure in your body without needing to act from it? Instead, could it be excitement? Could you alchemize that pressure into excitement, into beauty, into bliss, into, into great, I don't know, creativity. You need trigger work. You need to be able to sit with a trigger.

So for me, and that was somebody saying that I needed to change my content strategy, you need to be able to peel back all the layers behind that and get in touch with your inner knowing to separate the noise of all of the shoulds and the shame, and. Feedback or rejection or even a slow month and not collapse so that you can find your intuition, so that you can find your somatic intelligence, that intelligence inside of you that tells you where you need to be in the world, where you will be your most successful, your most abundant, what people naturally want to, um.

You know, pay you for your work. And then you need the confidence to act on that. You need the confidence to act on that, knowing you need the nervous system, body-based capacity to hold the bigness of what you're here to do, the possible disappointment or judgment of others. The, the fear of being seen, the fear of getting it wrong, the fear of failing, and if you.

Take on somebody else's feedback and you collapse into, well, they know more than I do. I don't know what I'm doing. Uh, I, I don't know. Like I should be listening to them. I got it wrong. You don't need just more mindset work and tell you like why, you know, like, why you know more or why your approach is the correct one.

It's not about being right or wrong, it's that you're collapsing into your self-doubt. And the way that I did very briefly, I kind of was like, oh, have I gotten this wrong for like the festival Second, I was like, have I gotten this wrong? And I remembered all of the times before when I thought that I needed to learn somebody else's way of speaking with people and learning about their problems or somebody else's way.

Like I did like a sales course. And then I read another book. And I'm not saying that these things are bad. I love reading books and I love learning about sales, but it's. When it's coming from that place of I need to learn more in order to be good at what I do, it's not true. Curiosity and learning, it's stuck energy in your system.

It's stuck energy in your nervous system and. We need to learn how to be with that energy without collapsing into it. I've said this a few times, so what do I actually mean? It means that when you're feeling frustrated or annoyed or angry at something, it's for a reason. It's not because you've done something wrong and your body doesn't need to calm down through it.

It needs to complete the cycle of that energy. And when we look at this from a polyvagal perception perspective, we have to go kind of up and over. That, um, activation cycle, right? Because if we, if we feel frustration and we don't do something with it, then it will get stored in your body. You guys have read The Body Keeps Us By Vessel VanDerKolk, is that how you say his name?

Really great book and. If you don't discharge it and let it move through you, then it will get stuck in your system and create protective mechanisms around that energy. One of those protective mechanisms is imposter syndrome. So one of the ways to healing your imposter syndrome is noticing where you get frustrated at people where you get annoyed, where you feel a little bit of a no, and then getting angry and getting annoyed and allowing yourself feel it.

Allowing yourself feel it, feel frustrated at the fact that your certification system is silly, and that it requires a lot of, um, I don't know, money, time, and energy to, to get certified in a certain way. Feel frustrated about that and don't make it mean that you're not qualified. Don't doubt your qualifications because the qu, the certification system is frustrating and annoying and wrong, and you see a better way.

And I say that being somebody who's studying to become a registered psychologist and going through a lot of tertiary education for that and doing my masters at the moment, it's a lot of work. Anyway, this whole experience has made me realize that this is why so many of us, especially as females, struggle with imposter syndrome.

We took another person's perspective and we suddenly thought that it was better than ours. And we thought that because it didn't sit right in us, then we were wrong. We are not wrong. We're trying to do something that is creative, that is intuitive, that is embodied, that is different inside of a system that is looking for proof and productivity at all costs, and you don't need to.

Fit in. You don't need somebody else to understand you. You just need space to listen to yourself again. And if this share this landed and you resonate, please share it with a friend.
