📍 Decision fatigue is real? And it can be really hard to make important decisions when your mind is weighing the pros and cons of all of the different options.

But the key to making fast, confident choices isn't in your mind. It's literally laying inside of your body. 📍 If you are a high achieving woman or you have high expectations and high desires for your life, you probably spend a lot of time second guessing yourself, thinking a lot about the things that you're doing and trying to find the correct answer before taking action.

But that mental black and forth isn't, it's exhausting. It also slow down, slows down your business's growth. You've seen it because you can probably look back and be like, Oh, I wish that I had started that thing two years ago, five years ago. I wish I'd done that thing. Cause I'm still thinking about it.

And what would have happened if I just started then, or if I just done that then, or if I've been more bolder then. And it's not to be harsh on yourself, but. Today, what I want to provide for you is a very simple four step process to cut down that decision fatigue using body based somatic intelligence.

By the end of the episode, you'll know exactly how to make decisions with more clarity, confidence and ease. Every decision you delay, every email you rewrite, every sales call you analyze for hours or think, Oh, just do that next Tuesday instead of I'll do it right now or I'll do that today. This becomes an energy lake.

And the hidden cost of that energy leak isn't just time, it's mental and emotional exhaustion that is making you feel burnt out. That makes you doubt yourself, that makes you hesitate and stops you connecting to the people that you care about in your life, making money, doing your hobbies. Because of the way that society is built, we've landed in a situation where for a lot This pattern is very, very strong.

I'm not saying it's not strong for men, but I've noticed that there's specific experiences that women have and are socialized to have that creates this very strong. And if you've experienced some type of trauma or heartache and you've had some hard stuff happen, your nervous system is going to doubt even more.

Your nervous system wants to analyze everything looking for safety, to be prepared for every possible outcome and to avoid making a mistake or failing at all costs. However, confidence doesn't come from making perfect decisions, neither does safety. It comes from finding safety inside, and knowing that you can, you've got yourself, no matter what happens.

And when we delay, and we overthink, and we, we fall into these traps, or we look to how much money we're making, or how much Other people praise our work for validation that everything is working out. The more we recreate that state of insecurity and uncertainty in the body, which drains your energy faster.

This is the reason why things feel hot. You can use your body for faster and clearer decisions that you're more confident in. So while your brain can continue to overthink, your body knows the answer and you can actually soften and kind of settle into that answer and let the brain do the thing and be confident like, Oh yeah, that's my brain, like braining, right?

The problem is a lot of us have been conditioned to either ignore the signals our body gives us when something is right or wrong for us, or we never actually learned the skill of connecting into them. So today I want to share a somatic decision making framework, four steps so that you can do it. Step one, notice the tension.

Step two, ask your body, not your brain. Step three, test a micro move. Step four, regulate and decide. Let me elaborate. Step one, notice the tension. When you're stuck in an indecision about something, whether you are like, Oh, I don't love how I responded to that email. Or I'm thinking, I'm going to use an example from today's call.

There was an individual, she was like, this is the way that I want to do legion, but I'm thinking maybe I should do it this way. And should I be doing content or should I be doing content that way? That's a sign that mental back and forth is a sign that your body is reacting to something. If you check in with your body, you might also notice that maybe your jaw is a little bit tight or your stomach feels unsettled, or you're breathing really high in your chest and not low in your belly.

And your mind is very active. So notice the tension in your body, pause and scan. Where do you feel it? What sensations are present? Simply bringing your awareness to these physical sink signals will interrupt that overthinking signal. And it shifts your attention from your head to your body. And what it does is it.

It loosens the energy that your brain has to keep going. When we're thinking a lot, it's a sign that we're avoiding feeling something in our body. So if you proactively feel it, your brain won't have to work so hard to avoid feeling it.

This is a skill. There is a supportive way to do it, and there is a re traumatizing way to do it, so be careful when you're doing it. If you're inside of the academy, we teach this skill in the first few modules. of how do I be with the sensations in my body without feeling overwhelmed by them. Step two is to kind of release your thoughts around what should I do, what's correct, come into your body and ask the question, does option A or option B or whatever, does it feel expansive or constricted?

Now, there's nuance here and you'll find it as you continue exploring and experimenting with your body. For example, the other day I have been contemplating a decision regarding marketing and sales and hiring for myself. And there have been some decisions, I kind of like feel this sensation in my chest and it's like, yeah, okay.

Like that feels correct. And in the past I have made decisions from that place and I can see in hindsight that they kind of worked, but they didn't. It didn't really get me what I wanted, but I didn't really know, um, what else to do. I was like, this feels better than the other option. The other option that I had made me feel really anxious, so I didn't do that.

And as I've been refining this and practicing, for example, the other day, I was making a decision. I kind of was like, okay, well, let's think of another option. How would that feel in my body? And I felt more sensation in the bottom of my, uh, belly than in my My chest. So my chest felt really confident and supported and proud making one decision and I could have gone with that and I'm not saying it would be a bad decision.

I've done it in the past and it's had mediocre results. And, but then in my, my body, this other option, it started feeling really, really grounded. And I haven't had that specific experience before, but I've had something very similar. And whenever I've been able to make, take action from that place, it's always been like exponential results.

It's always been a good idea with a small amount of energy. And it feels like I'm expending less energy when I, when I work from that energy inside. So naturally I'm going to make the decision or take action from that decision. And the scenario of that belly energy, and that's felt really good. I will say my brain, because it's uncertain, has had, you know, some thoughts about it.

And I've had to come back to some of my tools and be like, okay, this is valid. It makes sense because it's new, but we can still move forward in that way. We can still, it's okay. Right, so ask your body and take the time and once again you learn this inside of the academy. Take the time to create that um, relationship with your body.

The step three is to test a micro move. So a lot of people get stuck in this decision fatigue because they think that they need to be 100 percent sure before they act or your brain needs to be 100 percent on board. Inside of my book, Somatic Intelligence for Success, we have a whole chapter dedicated on this.

So if you resonate, you might want to check that out. But clarity comes from action, not overthinking and not trying to get it right. Your body won't trust something until it sees results. So instead of trying to map out the perfect plan or have the perfect week or have the perfect pitch, take a small, really low risk step in the direction, something that feels like it, it's accessible to you.

Maybe it feels a little bit scary, but it doesn't feel overwhelming. For example, if you're thinking about raising your prices, maybe you just like ask a potential client and just see how that feels in your body and not saying make a decision based on their feedback. But just. Get curious about it or, or change one aspect of your prices.

That's relatively easy and just see what happens for a month. If you're considering launching a new offer, start speaking about it with a small group of people. See how that feels. See what you learn about yourself and the offer and how people respond to it. And you'll start seeing how momentum can grow.

You can tweak things as you need it. Step four. Regulate before you decide. So when you start to feel overwhelming or there's overwhelm or there's tension, before making a body's choice, really make sure that you're in a regulated place. So sometimes, especially if you're like me, you have big emotional ups and downs or maybe your period is like very emotional for you, avoid making a decision during that time.

Just collect information. Ah, I feel this, I feel that. Then do something to get regulated, whether it's going to your yoga class, spending time in nature, having a conversation with your coach, having a conversation with me, connection, movement, breath, using the tools that we have inside of the toolbox in the academy set all the ones that you have send that signal to your nervous system that you are safe, which changes the way that it perceives the world from that place.

You can make a decision from clarity rather than fear. This is what we do inside of your work with me. I help ambitious women learn how to trust their body's intelligence so that they can move through business decisions with ease. If you want to make more decisions with ease, whether it's in sales, hiring or scaling, that is what we can do inside of the Academy.
