📍 Have you been journaling and meditating on how much to charge but you just can't find that sweet spot? And maybe you're starting to feel a little bit exhausted by trying to figure this out. 📍 By the end, you're going to know exactly how to use your body's wisdom to set pricing in a way that feels aligned and sustainable. This is not what most coaches tell you. And it's not about just getting out of your comfort zone.
You're going to have Pathway back to connecting to your purpose and excitement and energy where you're not spending so much time thinking about these questions. And of course, we're going to go into nervous system regulations and how to make decisions that honor both your wellbeing and the value of your work.
I used to go back and forth so much around pricing. And I remember I worked with a coach at the beginning of my journey and we spent a lot of time. figuring out how much should I charge for this thing. I would like research what other people were charging and I would ask questions and I would do market research and I would like meditate on it.
And I'm like, I have to get this right number. And, oh gosh, I had moments where it felt like I was charging too much. But if I try, if I did the work for less, I would feel resentful. I would feel uninspired. I fell, and I felt like, I don't know, I felt like, coming from a yoga background, I particularly felt like I was supposed to not charge too much and I wanted to be really accessible.
I had moments where I felt like I was charging too little, and I wanted to increase my prices quite significantly, quite rapidly. And I would go back and forth and be anxious about these things. And now, The price is the price. The price is the price that feels correct. I have a bit of a strategy on to how I set prices and whether my clients do this and it's both personal, but also informed by the client.
Economics and, you know, business structures and things like that. So it's realistic, meaning that the way we're going to do this, the price you walk away with when we set the price together, you can feel really confident that other people are going to want to pay it, but also that you're going to feel really good receiving it.
So in order to get to that point, we have to. Make sure that we understand this concept of somatic intelligence and why it is that missing piece in pricing decisions and also sustainable success and burnout recovery. So many of us are familiar with the idea of emotional intelligence, which is our ability to be aware of and manage our emotions.
But somatic intelligence takes that one step further. It's about understanding your body's wisdom through its signals. And recognizing how your, how this. Intelligence that lives inside of you, inside of your soma, inside of your body, inside of your nervous system can actually guide you to the correct actions and decisions that position you inside of a community that is ready to recognize you, that you're ready to receive from, that it feels good.
There's this innate intelligence that underpins all human beings and we're not living in alignment with it. And that's why things often feel really, really difficult. When we tap into that, that's when things feel like they're flowing. I have a client and she's recently tapped into it and she's like, I've just created this business almost quote unquote out of nowhere.
It just feels like things are flowing. I was meeting with another client last week and he was saying, it's like, I've never forced anything this year, but everything has happened. Everything has happened perfectly. And that's what happens when we get in contact with that somatic intelligence. When your pricing is aligned with that semantic intelligence, you can feel it in your body.
When it isn't you also feel it in your body you might feel tightness in your chest you might feel uneasy in your stomach I usually walk around where it like feels like I'm wearing like this thing. That is just doesn't fit, right? And I and I notice and I have thoughts around how I need to make I doubt my work when my pricing isn't right and it's it's not it's not I think about my work a lot not in a nice way kind of in an anxious way and And You might have that sense of kind of wavering and tension in your voice.
Your voice might get really high or you might stutter when you're talking about your prices. And this signals how there's an incongruence between the price that you have chosen and the price that your body feels is correct. Others pick up on that. Because our nervous systems are always communicating.
So if you're uneasy, clients unconsciously sense it, which makes them feel uncertain and confused and like, okay, well, there's something in this person's nervous system and body. That's not quite right. Like I, their, their body will be like, I can't trust you. I'm not going to give you my money. And this all happens on a very unconscious level.
We're not aware of it. It's happening before it's even picked up by our conscious mind. Now there's a lot of nuance around picking a price that is in line with your somatic intelligence, but we only get there and get to like tease it all out when we start and we go through the steps. So I'm going to share with you two steps to get in contact with your somatic intelligence and align your pricing to what is going to be most effective for yourself, your sustainability, and your business.
Number one, sit quietly. Sit quietly, put your phone away, put it on do not disturb and reflect on a potential price. You can do this right now even. You, but it's nice to like set aside a time, but just notice what happens in your body. So let's just say I want to sell something for 5, 000. Okay. How does my body respond to that?
What do you notice inside? Is there, a response in your belly? What How does your breath respond? What do your toes do? What do your shoulders do?
Just notice that. And now I'm not saying that you need to pick the price. It feels easy,
but just play around with what happens when you change that number, experiment with adjustments and pay attention to your body when it kind of signals a sense of. alignment. So a sense of spaciousness in your chest. It's easy to breathe. Your pelvic floor relaxes. It's going up and down. Maybe you try 4, 000, 6, 000.
And as you sit here, you might notice different voices inside. One part of you that says, Oh, you should charge this much. You should charge that much. And it's really fun and interesting to go in and do some kind of work around them and understand where they're coming from.
But when you find one that feels kind of right, I want you to go and look at the logistics of delivering at that, at that price point. And allow yourself to really map it out. What would your life look like? What would your income look like? Just see how that feels. Ah, does that feel, does it feel, does it feel good?
And if you're able to do it from a strategic point, you can go and you can have a look at the market. Does it stand up in the market? Because you need to be so sold on what you're selling, at the price point that you're selling, that there's no hesitation and doubt in you. And so once you've gathered all of that information, come back to that price, okay?
Does it still feel correct? And just pick the one that feels correct. And now there's another conversation around what to do to increase your prices. If you guys want, I can make a podcast episode on that. Please tell me if you do, if you would like to increase your prices, but you feel uneasy, you have to be very careful.
You have to move very slowly. Sometimes, sometimes you just got to like go for it, but I can make a podcast episode on that. If that's helpful, just let me know. But we're finding the one that feels correct. And we're getting sold on it in relation to the market because they want you to be actually able to argue why this price is the best and why your work is worth it.
It's not just about being aligned and being fluffy. It's like, no, People need to know why they need to spend this money on something. They are informed consumers and we want them to be empowered. So you need to be able to answer the question. Why should I spend this much money on you?
Now something that often happens when we do that practice is we experience, we just like, can't quite find that. Yes, this feels right. And sometimes this can happen because we're experiencing those first, Signs of burnout. Disconnection from your somatic intelligence will lead to burnout. And you can begin rebalancing and getting back in contact with your somatic intelligence so that you feel fulfilled in sustaining your work and you can continue to do it.
That means paying a lot of attention to how your body feels when you do certain types of work.
Identifying the types of work that don't feel aligned and taking away all of the, this should feel like this, or this should feel like that. Take all of it away. Don't pay any attention to all of those should voices. We can work with you, inside of the academy and inside of one on one work to make that easier, including all of your insecure voices.
We can work with you to, Make it so that they're not the forefront so much, and then you have the confidence to find, okay, well, this is actually what excites me. This is what I'm really good at. This is what I'm going to master. And then energy flows and it will change. And sometimes it changes at really inconvenient times.
Come back to your why. A lot of the time people, and I speak about this inside of the book, somatic intelligence for success. And we have a practice in there that you can do. I'll go through really quick, but a lot of the time, We start business. We have like one really clear why, but actually that wise come from fear and pain and trauma.
So when we go on, we all do all of this work to become more safe and more secure and more stable and loving. Now that why is no longer motivating us. So we have to set a new, why, why do you want to be doing this work? What is your purpose? What do you care about? What can you commit to changing? Who can you commit to helping?
What types of modalities are you committed to getting out there? Some of you are really connected to this and, and maybe, maybe beautiful. You used to be really connected to it and now you're not going to find it now because when you're regulated, sorry, when you're connected to your somatic intelligence, you naturally create alignment in your work.
And one of the biggest barriers to getting there apart from being disconnected, sorry, let's do this again. In addition to that, it's important to understand dysregulation because dysregulation is one of the things that makes it very difficult to get back in contact with our somatic intelligence, particularly if you're just beginning, because that somatic intelligence, it is a whisper until you create a relationship with it.
And we don't get that when our body feels that it's dysregulated. in danger and therefore Cannot give you those beautiful whispers about how to be fulfilled And have sustainable work in the world. It's like, oh my god, that email is gonna eat me So reconnect and re regulate your nervous system. Breathe deeply in your belly.
Do it with me right now. Breathe out deeply in your belly. Let your belly extend, expand, and then exhale slowly. Do that at least three times a day. And then notice the support beneath you, your feet on the ground, the chair holding you. Practice being in the present moment. It's really hard. I know. I know that you tried it before.
I know that you've, you've done it, but there is a somatic intelligence that thrives inside of you. Okay. When your nervous system is regulated and it's not something that we need to do once and master, it is a practice. And sometimes we need help getting there and we need community and we need reminders because you haven't failed if you've just gone off course and you're in your head a little bit.
