What IS the upper limit:

Imagine you’re driving on the highway towards your dream destination, but you’ve set a speed limit for yourself. You’re cruising along smoothly, feeling good about your progress, when suddenly you hit an invisible barrier that slows you down. You can’t seem to accelerate past this point, even though you know you’re capable of going faster, and further. 

The car starts malfunctioning… it’s running hot, there’s a problem with the wheel, and you’re annoyed so you start yelling at your passenger so now you’ve got 3 problems distracting you from getting to the destination you set out for. 

It can very easily become very ‘woe is me’ as things tend to pile up against you and it feels like you’re swimming upstream. 

In reality, this barrier is your body’s “upper limit”. AKA it’s arrived at its maximum capacity of what feels “safe” to receive, hold and serve.

Just like a speed limit, your upper limit can hold you back from reaching your desires of love, money, happiness, impact and health. 

This is why if right you’re experiencing any of the following you’re likely at your upper limit:

  1. You’re at an income cap and can’t seem to bust through it no matter HOW many times you tweak your sales or content process. 

  2. Your calendar is more full than it was this time last year, you’ve been working hard and smart… but your bank account looks the same. 

  3. You start each month with the motivation to double your income but somewhere on day 14 you fall off and stop caring.  

  4. No matter how well things are going you feel the need to change things, to pivot, either in your work, or in your personal life. 

Your upper limit solution can’t be solved with external factors. It’s solved within.

Yep. The solution isn’t in changing a strategy, hiring a team member or perfecting your productivity and organisation. 

The solution lies WITHIN the body. 

More specifically, in your capacity to hold responsibility, impact, energy, power and safety. 

What IS somatic intelligence:

The word “somatic” is derived from the Greek word “soma” which means “living body”—in somatic therapy, the physical body is seen as a valuable guide—an ally on the road to mental health and healing… if we learn to listen, learn from it, and heed what it tells us.

AFTER you’ve expanded past your upper limit life looks like this:

  1. You can notice distracting thought, feelings and sensations at the moment and instead of going down their path aka letting them steer you into distraction and standstill, you can see it as a SIGN you’re moving towards your goal, refocus, recalibrate and push through the invisible barrier to get to your destination. 

  2. Your income will steadily expand, but you’ll be less worried about it and more enamoured by your garden plants, your great friendships and the deepening sense of peace you get in the morning. 

  3. You’ll know exactly what activities are essential to get you towards your goals, and what activities can be replaced with Netflix, hiking and poetry classes. 

  4. Motivation and inspiration come easily and more consistently, meaning you can skip over feeling frustrated you didn’t reach your goals, and trust the process of arriving at them. 

  5. You access deep clarity about what things are necessary to pursue, achieve or fight for in life, love and finances, and what things are energy draining. 

How to move past it:

You can’t create results with beliefs, affirmations and visualisations alone because there is often an incongruence between what your mind tells you you want (the 6 figure business) and what your body wants (to never be ‘responsible’ for other people’s transformations). The only way to get see the results is to understand the needs of the body, meet them, and make the body feel safe as we walk towards our goals.
