But at the end of the episode, if you stick around, you'll also hear a shop 62nd clip on one thing that you can do today to make an empowered decision around that thing that your mind will not stop thinking about. Sorry. That's that moment. And I've had them so many times. You're like, yeah, this product is amazing. This is so good. I love this. This is going to be so well. I have this amazing idea when things are. You like growing and you're planning and you're, you're getting all the things out and then something happens. Either nobody's nobody cares.
Nobody's interested or your calendar gets so full. And so many things that you have to do that you like me that one time I launched my first group program. And I lost my voice for two weeks afterwards because I just pushed myself so hard. Or maybe like, yeah, maybe you get sick or you have a negative client experience.
They come on board and they're underwhelmed with your experience. And. And you just certainly know how to manage it or how to fix it. And, and it's hot, right?
When these things happen. It is really. Easy to go into a spiral. When our launches do not go to plan.
And we have unexpected results. It's really easy to start doubting yourself questioning if you know what you're doing. Questioning. If you should set more boundaries or less boundaries or speak more, speak less.
And it's really easy to fall into those traps of overworking or even procrastination.
You're essentially terrified that. What happened last time you launched or last time that you did this? Thing of work.
Will happen again? You'll get sick. Something will fall apart. It will be embarrassing. You'll be disappointed. You'll be sad. Maybe you'll be angry.
I remember the very first time that I released a product that literally like, no, nothing. I got no inquiries. And that was this visceral feeling in my buddy of just wanting to hide. I didn't want to show up anymore.
Aye. Didn't really want to do anything. And I stuck in that for a little while. And then I went into the opposite of overworking. And like pushing folded. What was happening on a nervous system level was my buddy was perceiving that fear of that failure or what. What I felt was actually just disappointment that collapsed into a lot of stories about my own worth.
That made me feel like a failure. I was disappointed. I didn't know how to deal with disappointment. And so I just started criticizing myself.
On a nervous system level. I had gone into a dorsal vagal collapse because of that. And I was feeling stuck and I just like, couldn't do anything. Every single task felt momentous. Then I went the other way. Which in some ways was a very positive thing, but to. I went to fall with it. And I started activating my body and getting that raw energy running through my body.
But I went so far with that, that I worked way too much because I was of course trying not to fail. So we've got sick.
And what I've learned through many years. Of failure and many years of launching product in product and product and service and service and service and program and program and program. And supporting other people through the same thing. Was that. That feeling of disappointment when something doesn't go your way.
Is not only where a lot of wisdom lies, but the place where we either collapsing on ourselves. Criticize ourselves and feel like a failure. Or we expanded, empower ourselves into the leaders. That actually. Do a lot of really good stuff in the world. Your capacity to make a change in the world. It is directly correspondent or correlating to your capacity. Too. Hold yourself with dignity and grace, when you're disappointed in the results that you've had. Put your business owner hat on.
Put your problem-solver hat on. Put yourself compassionate hat on. And move forward, asking the questions. What do I need? What does my business need?
Now in today's episode, we're going to be going through some really actionable steps through the different pillars of nervous system regulation, trauma healing, and then practical systems.
Let's break it down. As we do this, I want you, if you're feeling sensitive, I want you to know that. This fear of. This fear that you're experiencing or this shame, or this is appointment you're at fixing is really real. And that we're not engaging in this work to push through that discomfort. Or to not do anything at all load like grit, your teeth. We're here to understand that this makes sense that it's valid to feel this way, and you're not wrong for feeling this way. Your feelings are here to give you emotion.
Sorry to give you wisdom and your body's response right now, whether it's pushing really hard or not wanting to do anything. Is it's really beautiful way of protecting itself from. That feeling of what happens. What if it happens again? In today's episode, you're going to learn what you need to make sure that it doesn't happen again.
You're going to learn how to regulate your nervous system and heal the emotional wounds that are still carrying that weight of past values that probably. You know, trickle back down to your childhood and the wounds that you picked up there that we all have them. Am I going to create a practical system moving fall in.
So.
Focusing fast or nervous system regulation. Your nervous system is incredibly resilient. And what I mean, when I say resilience is the capacity to effectively and efficiently. Bounce back from discomfort. So.
This is it you're literally in it right now. Right?
Resilience. Is it. Your ability to be in this and they find ease and keep moving forward. And you're learning that right now. It's what's going to help you find that feeling of flow in the future. Even more.
And so part of your job right now is to help your body return to a state of ease. And softness, whether that means taking time to rest, if that's going to help you and like going to a flight tank or a breathwork class. Taste scheduling a break, whether that means connecting with somebody and just sharing all of it. All way about scrubbing and boxing and also smashing out your to-do list. Whatever is going to help you come back to a calm state.
That's going to be part of teaching your buddy. Resilience. Through this process. Our goal is to help it go into a, a state where there's activation and their sensation or we're acting, we're moving. And there's a little bit of tension back down into softness very effectively and very efficiently, probably numerous times a day.
Then we have pillar two, which is the steepest space.
Probably you're experiencing a lot of that deep space, like that deeper pain. Right. Right now. And I think this is where we either.
Either we address it and we provide validation and love to ourselves. And we learn from these wounds inside of us. Or we don't. And. The people who do address it are the ones that are really happy and vibrant and joyful for the rest of their life, doing visionary and change-making work. And the people that don't address it are the ones that are overworked and bitter, or just quit. And feel like they could have done more of the whole, their whole life.
If I'm being really honest, So there's a voice inside of you right now. That's telling you some fucked up story of like, you're not good enough. You failed, your, you, if you were smarter, you would do differently or. I don't know, like, you don't know what you're doing or that's not going to be enough or you need to learn something else. And it's if we track it back.
So if you and I were like sitting in front of each other, we'd kind of address that voice and we'd probably feel okay. Where do you feel that in your body? He probably track it back. To at least an understanding and not like a deep dive because. It's not always necessary to do that deep dive, but like an understanding of where is this coming from?
What is this actually a fried off, you know, yesterday I was in a client call and we found that, you know, it's the middle of her launch and. There's fear of being wrong, coming up. And it's just, it's just related to how my mom used to speak with her. And.
What we can do is we can go in and we can alleviate a lot of that pain and darkness inside using breath work, using mindfulness, using meditation, using semantic practices, using healing. And some of you are come and work with me, you and I will do that. And we will heal and alleviate that pain inside of you.
And it's a really beautiful process. Sometimes I can, the case of my client yesterday. We just acknowledged it. Ah, That's what's happening here.
And then we rooted back into what's true. Well, that's not true that there's. Right. This, I mean actually rooted into it. Like she actually felt it cause you're probably like trying to feel it right now. It's not quite hitting, but we actually landed in that space of like, You know what. You want this to be right or wrong because that's what mom taught you, but it's not how this works.
And you actually don't. That part of you, that's worried about it being right or wrong. It doesn't need to. It doesn't need to worry so hot. This is whole version. This business owner of you that may is really capable of making those decisions. And when you're not clouded by those interferes, making those decisions as easy. You may follow it.
It's not even a conversation. You're ready to throw this podcast out the window.
Doing that somatic work is what helps you access that place of gratitude? This.
And what helps you prevent old wounds from dictating your current reality?
I would say it's important. If not imperative to work with a coach or therapist. 'cause these triggers can run really deep and can be really hard to untangle. That's why I have support. That's why you need support. One of the ways that you can gain this apart is by working with me inside of buddy based business, which is currently enrolling. And you can find information about that down below in the show notes. Where we use a. Somatic therapist approach and also a very practical approach to build your business. From. Your own somatic intelligence to build your resilience.
And as a result, everything starts to flow. You see. You build your bank account, you make an impact. And. Ultimately your life improves.
Then we want to look at some practical systems. So in the next episode, I'm going to show you how we can approach this practically. And how you can learn from your. Your experience and put a system in place that helps you move forward. Instead of just jumping back into that same pattern of either pushing hot out overworking, focusing, or procrastinating, giving up, never moving forward. I'm feeling like paralyzed.
When you sit down to do your work.
But before we do that, remember that resilience isn't about avoiding failure or about gritting and like gritting your teeth and moving forward. It's about embracing and learning from the experience and finding ease more effectively and more efficiently.
It's okay. To be disappointed. It's okay. To be afraid. And you care about. I keep that back continuing. That's why you're here. And as you do that, you will continue to create something even greater. If you'd like, continue to part for this, please join me in body-based business. And now let's segue into a story that I shared recently. On how to make decisions. From how to make decisions basically. If your mind is looping about something. This is what you need to listen to, to make that decision today, you're going to make a decision today.
You're gonna take action from it today. 📍 Let's scrap.
Every time that you make a decision out of fear, you create more fear and anxiety in your life. Every time that you create a decision, you make a decision out of self worth, confidence, trust, faith, self belief, you create more of that in your life and you create more synchronicities. And that's when you start to feel like, like, like you're moving through life with ease.
This applies to every single one of your business decisions as well.
As you make a decision and you consider, am I going to inquire with Sheridan about body based business or make an investment with body based business, the thing that I want you to continue to come back to is, are you being swayed by your fear? That it won't work out, that you won't make your money, that it'll be really intimidating, that'll be really hard, that you don't know what will happen.
Or are you making a decision based off of your dreams, your desires, your wants, your self worth, your trust, and your own self confidence? Even if those things don't feel accessible right now, they will feel more accessible once we start working together. Make the decision from that space. Book your call from that space and make your investment from that space.
Not your fear that it won't work out.
